I ordered this rock not really knowing what to expect. It arrived quickly and boy was the box heavy! The pieces are huge and each one is wrapped in plastic which holds in the small pieces that have broken off. I haven't added it to my aquariums yet because my husband will need to break down one piece for use in my 10 gallon. The rest is slated for my 29 tall which I plan to use for glo-fish. Since I have discovered Aquarium Co-op I have purchased all my products from them and have been happy with everything ordered.
I bought this for my new 40gal tank that I was setting up and knew I didn't want a lot of rock, so I figured this would be perfect, and it was! The stone is BEAUTIFUL, and the texture it has is amazing. If o needed more rock, I know where to go when the time is right. Would definitely purchase again.
I was leery of ordering hardscape online, sight unseen. I have a very specific design idea to make a big mountain with wood, stone, plants, and moss. Since I can't get this stuff locally and hand-picked individual pieces for sale online are crazy expensive, I took a chance on the 10 lb box.
I got three nice big pieces. Two of which are long and will help form the sides and the other one is more squared off so I'll use it to prop up one of the big pieces of Mopani driftwood. I think it'll work out really well.
FWIW, the smallest piece does have a large crack in it, and may be split. They're all staying in their plastic shrink wrap until the tank is ready for them, so I can't be certain. Hopefully I can just superglue it back together if that's the case.
The stones have been a great addition to my aquarium. They arrived triple wrapped in bubble pack in perfect condition. I appreciate the care taken to package the stones.
