I bought this heater for my 40 g breeder tank to replace an old Eheim-Jager. I have my heaters set at 78 degrees. In the winter, we set our thermostat to 65 deg at night, and 72 during the day. I bought the 200w Fluval E heater thinking it would keep the water temp near 78, even during the night when the air temp dips to 65. Unfortunately, the heater was not maintaining the set temp, dipping down to 73 degrees at night. I like the features of the heater, like the colored lcd panel that measures the temp and the ease of changing the setpoint. The performance was not there however, and I ended up replacing it with a Hydor inline heater. I have had very good results with those in the past. I wouldn't recommend the Fluval heater for those expecting to keep the aquarium water more than 10 degrees higher than the ambient temperature.
I really like this heater, it’s easy to use and it does a great job!
Great heater. Definitely need good flow or you'll get the low flow warning. Under gravel filters alone were not enough. Positioned a small circulation pump directed at heater and resolved the warning by the next morning. Maintaining temperature within a half degree.
Love this heater let’s me see from far if all my tanks are at temperature. Easy to use. Have been using them for a while all working great
I have never purchased anything from the co-op before, but I needed a pair of heaters for a new tank. I had remembered a video Cory put out about this heater and gave it another watch. To be honest, I paid a little more to buy it here, but I would have never known about this heater if it wasn't for Cory. I think he deserves the business for all he does for the hobby, and if I have to pay a little more for great customer service, I'm more than willing to do so. Thanks for all you do and for a great purchasing experience.
