I have the stingray on my 20 long and 10 gallon so I decided to get a clip on for my little three gallon tank and it is wonderful. I use it in addition to the light that came in the tank, but you could certainly use it alone. The picture below is just the stingray light on, no additional lighting.
For tanks like 20L and similar shallower tanks, this is a great light for planted freshwater and won't break the bank either. I use a few different ones throughout my fishroom and really like them.
I really enjoy the light the finnex gives off in my 10 gallon tank.
Looking forward to getting more!
I got one of these for my 40 gallon, the 36 in if I remember correctly. And when my girlfriend saw the difference between the Stingray and the bulbs lights on the 29 gallon her reaction was all I needed. Pretty sure that without looking at Corey's vids and the discount I would not have picked this one up.
I love my Finnex Stingray light. It makes everything look good The colors are brighter. It is light weight and easy to move when doing tank maintenance. The price was right also.
I recently purchased four of the Fennix Stingray 30" LED aquarium lights from Aquarium Co Op. These lights are very nice. They are extremely thin and narrow with a nice black sleek look. The lights come with two different mounting options for setting on the aquarium rim or underneath something like a hood. The setting on an aquarium setup uses clear plastic brackets that can adjust to rimless tanks or standard tanks with plastic frames. The brackets can also slide closer together to mount the 30" LED light on any aquarium width narrower than 30". I use the Fennix Stingray lights on standard 20 gallon long planted tanks. They look great and supply sufficient light for my low light, easy plants, such as water wisteria, various anubias, various moss, java fern and guppy grass. The combo of white, red and blue LEDs make a very attractive and eye pleasing light. These lights make my fancy guppies and cherry shrimp pop with color. This is especially true for the iridescence in the guppies. The lights and the electrical plugs do not get hot when in use for 11 hours straight. They work great with a timer. These light don't have any special features, just on and off. For the price, it's hard to beat these lights. I highly recommend these lights and will purchase more of them in the future should I get more fish tanks. I'm very satisfied with my purchase. Cheers.
I had a T8 on my 55 gallon tropical community tank before this; the difference is significant and the light looks fantastic! The only reason this is not a 5 star is the build quality, while good for the money, isn't great. My small cat may have slightly bent it just laying on it and the warranty is basically non existent. But that's nit picking. Its a great light and would recommend it
This is an elegantly slimline light. Basic operation if On/Off - although Cory posted a video showing you how to adapt it to variable light output. I like it simple function and ability to mount under cabinet. I wish the 24/7 Planted lights came with these extra mounting brackets too.
I purchased a stingray to replace a Nicrew light that started falling apart. Now, I feel like I HAVE to get one for every tank. Sleek design, nice mounting system. A+.
Super help the plants
