Vallisneria has been a popular choice in the hobby for quite some time due to its minimal care requirements. It can be an excellent choice for beginners because it is very hardy, thrives under low to medium light and spreads quickly by sending out baby plants as runners. When it's well established you can get a new shoot as soon as every 3 days.
Vallisneria grows very tall in an aquarium and can drape over the top to make fish and fry feel secure. For this reason, it also serves very well as a background plant to provide a nice green back drop for your aquarium.

Nice packaging and the plants were healthy looking.
After one week it has 3 distinct runners one of which is already 3” tall. I’m new to live aquarium plants and have never had success with them in the past. I’ve really enjoyed watching this one grow. Seeing visible growth each day!
So when I first opened them I was a little nervous cause they were all melted away from shipping. I cut the tops down to about 1 inch and planted them with some root tabs. Kinda forget they were in the back of my tank and noticed them again today. Been about a week, and one already shot out a new running and is growing. The original 2 plants are also about 2 inches taller.
