It's almost a powder consistency but if you squeeze a pinch before dropping it in it will hold it's shape. All my bettas(splendens/imbellis/api api) eat it but not like how they eat live daphnia. Splendens take to this food quickly, imbellis after one or two feedings. The api api is hardest, they prefer live food or fluval tropical bug bites
I'm not sure this was a product that works for my tank. It's a powder which doesn't seem to serve as goldfish food. It just washes up on the sides and the goldfish can't get to it. I think I'll mix it in with the Repashy that I use and feed it to them that way. Giving 5 stars because the service is always on point. Much appreciated.
Our new Gourami was not eating our flake food. Tried the Daphnia and it was happy! I like that I can feed without feeling like I am over feeding? And vitamin packed! :)
Great for nano tanks! I sprinkle some of this in my beta's tank for him to hunt and graze on during the day. In my community tank my ember tetras strike the surface as hard as they can (which isn't very hard but its fun to watch) to get their share. I like how its loose in the container instead of cubed so you can scoop out as much as you want. I pair the daphnia with Hikari Micro Pellets and my tanks go crazy for both. Great price too, cheaper than my LFS.
My tetras really enjoy this food. It suspends pretty well in the water column once it has had a minute to soak. The daphnia are loose in the container instead of compressed into a cube. Additionally there is a sliding door for easy dispensing rather than having to unscrew the lid every time you feed.
