This pad is designed to absorb toxic ammonia from the aquarium and as a preventative measure to avoid ammonia spikes. Especially useful after moving an aquarium, doing a large cleaning on a tank or after a power outage where the the balance of the tank has been disrupted. They can easily be be cut down to the size of your filter for a perfect fit.
We are often asked "how long do these last?" It depends on the amount of ammonia, the only way to tell is by measuring ammonia. The more ammonia in the aquarium, the faster it will be exhausted.

I was having issues in my 20 gal tank that had my electric blue crayfish with ammonia levels being elevated. I did constant water changes and filter changes and it would lower the levels but never get to zero. Ordered and installed the ammonia filter and it's done wonders. Crystal clear water and was finally able to let the tank to start developing it's own ecosystem. Definitely helped and now my crayfish is happy.
Works great as another layer of filtration in your filters! I noticed a drop in ammonia levels after using, so it works as intended. Aquarium co-op is a great company and all their products are worth it! Highly recommend.

I was have a new tank and was having an Ammonia spike that sadly I lost a couple 🐠 but I went in to the co-op and they recommended I cut a piece of this and put it in my filter until my water tests were clear of ammonia and that’s what I did! Works great and fast! Thanks so much!
