Finicky snails, perhaps?

Given a choice between these snail sticks and Shirakura algae wafers, my snails pick the algae wafers all the time. Even if I just present the snail sticks, they most often ignore them, not sure why - but I have planted tanks so maybe they just find something better to eat than processed food? And if they do decide to head over and check it out, by the time they get there my nano fish have pecked away most of it. Am thinking probably not the best for community tanks. My cherry shrimp are disinterested in it, at least. They prefer the algae wafers, too. I have olive nerite, ramshorn and black devil spike snails. Ramshorn snails have yet to check out the snail sticks, although they do eat algae wafers sometimes. These snail sticks make quite a mess and break down very quickly. Rated it three stars because my fish like it, lol...
