  • Pliable tubing for pinching the hose
  • Clear tubing to view waste lift-off

Removing debris from your gravel or build-up on your substrate is a great way to keep your water clear. Gravel vacuuming is an easy and rewarding way to clean your aquarium. Watch this video for tips to make it easy.

Don't forget to use the brown water on your favorite house or outdoor plants. This water is supercharged with mulm (fish waste) to delivery nutrients to your non aquatic plants.

Great little vac

If you have a nano tank you need this little vac. Gets into small areas and won’t pull the gravel out of the tank. Easy to control flow by placing your finger over the outlet.

Exactly what I needed

Just the right size for my 5-gallon planted tank. This siphon isnt fancy, it's not one of the ones you shake to start or have to use a hand pump with. As long as you're comfortable getting the flow going the old fashioned way (😉) this is easy to use and gets the job done. No leaks, easy to store away, uncomplicated.

Works just as designed

This product works well in my 6 gallon tank. It picks up the sand to clean the muck, but it doesnt suck all of the sand out of the tank. Very satisfied with this product!

Simple and Precise

Easy to use and gentle enough not to disturb my tank while getting the job done. Suited well for 20 gallon and under.

Great for my 5-gallon tank

I’d been looking for a gravel vac that would not suck water out of my 5-gallon aquarium so fast that I’d only be able to clean part of my tank. This mini vac allows me to be much more thorough. Thumbs up!

Short tube

Longer tube would help with water changes

Little Siphon

I wish this siphon was a little bigger to better accommodate my 10 gallon tanks, but it's perfect for the 2.5 gallon. It's also the easiest siphon I've used.

Great for 2.5 Gallon

We use this for our 2 2.5 gallon tanks and its the perfect size. Also great for water changes on our 30 gallon when we dont need to vacuum the gravel for an easy siphon

Great for nano tank

This siphon works great for my 9 gallon tank. Small hose allows for gentle intake of water. I can vacuum gently around plants or deeply into substrate without emptying tank completely in a matter of minutes. I was afraid it might be hard to establish a siphon without a pump, but it has been simple.

Good Gravel vac tool

I’m partial to python hoses but, to clean my 10 gallon tanks it’s nice to have this little siphon to clean the gravel good and not take too much water out. 5 stars for the tool itself. 4 stars cause I wish the hose was slightly more flimsy. Only bought this because the Co-op sells it and I know they stand behind products they offer

Finally, a good gravel vac for nano tanks

I’ve tried so many different gravel vacs for my 10-gallon tank. Some were too big to maneuver around the tank. Some were too skinny and clogged. This one just works the way you want it to.

Pros and cons

I made a previous review that I hope this one will replace. I’ve upgraded my rating with a better understanding. Pros: it is simple to use. Cleans the gravel well and sucks out the water slower so you have time to cover more gravel because the tube is smaller than some others. Cons: while being great at cleaning the gravel very efficiently, it has no protection from picking up small shrimp, fry or other inhabitants of a nano aquarium. Also, No bulb means you use your mouth to get the water flowing. However, it’s a simple matter of watching for the water to start to come up over the top of the aquarium. As far as picking up tiny inhabitants, my solution is to have great lighting and watching where you put it very closely, all the while not lifting it far from gravel. I guess it wouldn’t clean the gravel as well the some sort of filter attachment but I still wish it did. All in all, it is useful and simple to use.

Love it

This tool has helped me so much with the start up of both of my aquariums. Doing so many water changes in the first few weeks of starting an aquarium can be tough but this vacuum makes it so easy. I have a 10 gallon and a 5 gallon and it’s great. I’m exited to use this when I receive my 20 gallon tank

Pretty good

it’s cheap but it works, only complaint is the lack of built in fish tank and built in fish

Excellent for small tanks

I purchased the syphon vac for my 5 gallon betta tank. It works great and makes cleaning up debris and old water very easy. If I could improve upon this design it would be to add a one way pump to the end, so I don't have to syphon it off each time with my mouth :). Overall this is a great tool to have to keep my tank clean.

It Works

It gets the job done, and a lot better than the airline tubing I had been using. Thanks.

Just what I needed

I have been using a siphon that is way too big for my 5 gallon betta tank and when I was purchasing other things from aquarium co-op, I saw this and knew I needed it. It's the perfect size and is much more effective.

Nice and Easy

This is a good siphon. Easy to use and a good length. I do wish the hose diameter was a bit bigger, but this works well for small tanks.

J
Jeanne D. (Silverdale, WA, US)
Smaller siphon is handier

I’ve been using a larger siphon with a larger diameter tube which produces much greater siphon vacuum force to clean both 37 and 10 gallon tanks. In the smaller tank that’s more heavily planted, I needed something smaller to fit in narrower spaces and with less suction to keep plant roots, fry and shrimp safe. This works perfectly!
