Crushed coral is a great tool for raising the pH of your water. We use it at 1 pound of crushed coral per 10 gallons of water when mixed in with our gravel. Crushed coral dissolves continuously over time. The lower your pH is, the faster it dissolves. As the pH rises, it slows down how fast the coral dissolves. Crushed coral adds a bit of hardness to the water and it significantly boosts KH which buffers pH from swinging.

Crushed Coral for Shrimp

Got this to have on hand if needed for Snails/Shrimp tanks. Very well priced, high quality coral in such a convenient format! I sprinkle on substrate when setting up a tank, add into the internal basket of sponge filters after cleaning, add a little pile in the back of the tank, or placed in media bags for HOB or canister filters. Excellent for raising pH to acceptable levels and increasing mineral content needed for proper molting in shrimp.

Good size

I have a 20 gallon snail tank and my tap water is soft. Bought 2 bags and put in mesh bags on each side of the sponge filter. Wont raise ph over night but it is gradual which is fine with me. The snails must be happy because my population has tripled in just under 2 weeks.

One of my quarantine tanks was registering near 0 kh so I added a small bag of this stuff in the filter and bang 3 days later I have 60 ppm kh in my tank. I must have for any fish keeper who has very soft water.
