This species of aponogeton native to Madagascar gets its name from the structure the leaves grow in, displaying a beautiful skeletal latticework design throughout. Madagascar Lace plants are perennial plants and will go through a period where most of their leaves will die back, typically during the summer, then sprouting new larger leaves around the fall.  When planting Madagascar lace take care as to not fully bury the bulb in the substrate, burying about half the bulb will keep this plant happy and thriving.

Dont plant around loaches

Looked cool until my yo-yo loach ate it within a day. lol. Hopefully it grows back. But fair warning if you have loaches apparently they find it amusing to tear the leaf's off and laugh in your face.
