  • Excellent Source of Fiber
  • Similar Taste and Texture As Live Daphnia
  • Free of Harmful Parasites and Bacteria

Hikari freeze dried daphnia is as close to feeding live daphnia as you can get in dry food form. This food is a great natural source of algae which can be very effective for cleaning out your fishes intestinal tract - especially when treating with meds. Free from any parasites and harmful bacteria, freeze dried daphnia is a great option to have around as a treat or part of your food rotation.

Great unless you have floating plants

The only thing to consider is if you have floating plants, this will get stuck.... But that applies to any food that floats so 🤷‍♀️

I also love the little scoop it comes with!

Bigger than I expected

I bought these for some rather fussy Buenos Aires tetras. They don't like them, but the danios love them! They are variable in size- whole and fragments. They tend to float for a while. Picture for scale.

They like it

Bought this for a betta to help keep him regular, and he likes it very well. My tetras like it too. It is almost like a powder, so I put it into my hand before putting it into the tank to ensure I don’t overfeed. The husks of daphnia help clear the digestive tract and may help clear some parasites out of this fish in some cases.

I have Red-Eye Tetra, CPD, Gold Ring Danio, African Banded Barbs, and my kuhli loach that all love these. Once I drop this in, it doesn’t last long.

Fish enjoy it!

The fish seem to enjoy it. It was well packaged and appears appropriately dried and looks like it will store well.

Lying Description

The description on the website states that the product contains 66% protein, but on the jar it says only 55%.

Great product, fish love

This is so much better than the daphnia I purchased off Amazon. This is very small pieces and soft so even my tiny tetras can eat it. All my fish seem to go crazy for this. Highly recommend.

Great food for small fish

I love this food because many small or young fish cannot eat brine shrimp, but they will go right for this! Also, it floats in the water column better than shrimp or worms, and so it lets fish eat more without ending up with decaying food.

Only dried foods my Badis will take

Can’t go wrong with Hikari

Brings Dwarf Chain loaches out

Betta feeds immediately, while they are floating on the top. Once they soften and begin to sink into the water, the loaches appear. Other than newly hatched baby brine shrimp, this is the only food I have fed my nano tank that causes the dwarf chain loaches to come out of hiding to feed.

Great!

Freeze dried food is great for fish who need varied diets! Daphnia is great! I was going to purchase this on amazon but aquarium co-op was cheaper, my fish love it and the hikari brand is one I feed most of my fish. Really good stuff!

Delightful Daphnia!

I use this with my Betta Sorority, my Golden Mountain Minnows, Glowtetras and male bettas. They all love eating it. The granules are mixed sizes to please all in community situations. Fantastic adjustable lid opening and plenty of product for the bucks! I'll buy more once mine is empty!

Great for young fish

I started feeding these to my very young Galaxy rasboras and dwarf emperor rasboras. They readily ate, darting around the tank to grab more. They grew very quickly and have now transitioned to other foods.
