Remove all doubt by testing your aquarium water for ammonia with the Ammonia Test Strips developed by Aquarium Co-Op. The test is easy to use and the results can be read in just 30 seconds, so you can test frequently to ensure the health of your aquarium over time.

1

When in Doubt, Test the Water

Not sure why your fish are acting weird or if it's time to clean the aquarium? That's why we made our test strips quick, accurate, and affordable — so you can test the water any time you're in doubt and help troubleshoot potential problems. The goal is to have 0 ppm ammonia, so if you get a higher reading, do a water change to remove the toxic ammonia.

2

Laminated Color Chart

Tired of getting the paper chart on the back of your test strip bottle wet? We feel your pain. That's why we included a second, laminated color chart inside the bottle that you can remove and use for viewing your test strip results. Easy to wipe dry and keep clean.

Garbage, sadly killed my fish

I got these from my Local Fish Store. They have not expired and still had the freshness seal on it. One of my tanks was a little overstocked this week while I set up my 50 gallon. I used the API master kit and it said I had some ammonia. But then I used the CO-OP strips and they said zero. I trusted the CO-OP having heard before that the API can be mis leading. Woke up to my male Golden ram, two Precoxs, and my main breeding Boesemani all dead. All my other fish gasping, hanging on to dear life. Don't waste your money.

Quick read

I like the strips as they read fast. However, the result colors are somewhat hard to see. Otherwise, good price and the pad adherence seems to be corrected.

Disappointed in quality.

I don't normally complain. And this isn't meant to be a negative review. But I am disappointed in the quality of these strips. The problem that I have is when I opened the container I immediately noticed that some of the strips are missing the pads. Upon closer inspection it looks like about 50% of pads came unglued straight out of the box. I really hope you guys can fix this issue and that is exactly why I am leaving this review, to hopefully provide helpful feedback so you can fix the issue. Also please create a video on your YouTube channel showing is how to use these things. How fast do we dip them in and out? One second in- one second out? Instructions are a bit unclear. Thanks.

They fall apart

I bought this a couple weeks ago and when I open it and take one out the little square of the reactive fall off so I take other one out and the same thing for a few times so I take all out to find there is about 20 to 30 little squares in the bottom of the jar I put a claim and they send me a new bottle but I was the same way at least 20 little squares in the jar. So disappointed.

Ammonia test strips

Absolutely must have for any hobbyist .
I'm at peace managing my no water change community aquarium and my new discus aquariums .

Being in Mumbai, India, I have to request family or friends to carry these for me when they travel back home from the US.
I cut the strips into 2 to make the most of them .

Thanks Cory , Dean and team aquarium co op for bringing me back into the hobby each time I meander off . Your passion is top notch ❤️❤️❤️.

Peace of mind for an aquarium keeper who is OCD.

I'm a totally obsessive guy about my aquarium and fish keeping, testing almost daily with Co-Op test strips. The other day I broke out my API test kit to test for ammonia. I freaked when it read .25ppm. Water clarity and happy, active, healthy looking wet ones did not jive with that reading. Trusting Cory and the Co-Op, I figured I better score some Ammonia test strips. They arrived in no time, and I just tested. YELLOW! Thank you Aquarium Co-Op. You guys are my go to for everything aquarium and fish.

Maybe I received a bad batch?

The Aquariumcoop ammonia test trips did not pick up what the API test kit picked up.

These need to be tested more and perfected

First of all I love Aquarium Coop, have been a return customer at the store as well as by mail, and have always had a good experience with the fish and plants purchased there. So this review is not intended to badmouth Corey or this product, but rather a description of my experience. Some background info—I’m beginner/intermediate aquarist, have had my freshwater 36 gallon running for over 2 years now with minimal casualties. I’m a pharmacist by trade and very tedious about details and following instructions, and have an extensive background in chemistry. So operator error highly unlikely here. :)
Got these strips for my recently started hospital/ quarantine tank. I was very excited to have the convenience of an ammonia test in a strip form, kudos to Corey for inventing these. I’m very sad to report that the ammonia strips didn’t work very well. I used 3-4 strips and I got similar results. As you can see in the photos, the strip is unreadable. You can see some muddling but it’s not a uniform color representing any specific ammonia level. An average person could read this as no ammonia. But I was expecting ammonia and cross-tested with API liquid test, and that’s the result that made sense. My liquid test is unexpired and stored appropriately, so again I trust it’s result. Now let’s say I was an early beginner, didn’t want to buy the liquid test—I could’ve had significant fish loss relying on the ammonia strip alone. Most of the people here have at least some experience and therefore it would be kind of difficult to test the strips for accuracy if you have no ammonia to begin with in your well cycled tank. It looks like the reagent wasn’t applied to the strip in a uniform fashion, so this could be a production issue. I love the concept and really hope this is something that can be fixed, and I would be happy to buy again. But if you’re buying as your sole way of measurement, especially for an uncycled tank—I highly recommend cross-referencing with a liquid reagent kit.

Aquarium Co-Op Ammonia Test Strips

Hey! My name is Matt from Derby Kansas. I recently in the past few months found out about Aquarium Co-Op and decided to try these ammonia strips out. They work great! I also cross referenced with my API drip test kit and got the same readings. I test about 10 tanks a day out of the 30 I have, and wow! This saves me so much time. I think this product is great and I fully trust the results I get!

Very easy and fast

As far as I know these are great for a fast method of testing however I haven’t had any registered ammonia show up on any of them but that’s probably correct as all my tanks have been established for a decent Time

Amazing

I just got my Ammonia test strips in and couldn’t be happier! I checked the results against other liquid test and the strips matched spot on. I’ll keep these handy strips on hand always. Thank you!

easy says it all

I bought these the instant they were released, recieved them in less then 24 hours! The bottle says swirl the strip in the water for 30 seconds, the website says swirl for 10. I'm swirling for however long it takes the Amazon Puffer to get too close! :) Works great and very quick, super easy!

Aquarium Co-op Multi-test strip

Like a lot of the youtube members, I couldn't order these fast enough! And let me tell you, right out of the box I already LOVED them! I loved the color chart on the bottle that included "Change water" "Hard/soft", "Low/moderate/high". So simple to use, no overly complicated instructions, AND quick! I dread water testing and skip it most of the time, but these test strips need to be labeled EASY, thank you Aquarium Co-op team for developing this!!!

Great Tool For Live Bait Holding

Ammonia buildup in a Emerald Shiner tank kills fast. Keeping Emerald Shiners in a enclosed system is difficult at best and catastrophic at worst. These Ammonia strips are very easy to use and provide a quick answer to the condition of the water. I think they are a necessary tool for water quality monitoring.
