I debated buying this for a long time, but I’m so glad I did! It has been pumping 24/7 for a little over a year now. I plumbed it with 3/4” tubing that feeds to 1” conduit. This gives me consistent volume. Then I used the threaded valves and airline to each sponge filter. Cory made me confident enough to start the hobby. Now I couldn’t live without it. Amazing filter, you won’t regret it. Also, if you can’t grow plants well, just get some pogosteman stellatus octopus. It grows like mad and propagates so easy!

One pump replaced three. The power draw

On my three pumps is the same as the Linear Piston Air Pump. I was going to upgrade one pump to a bigger size. The power draw is now going to be grader with the upgrade of one pump. I ran into this through aquarium co ops YouTube channel.

Did some research, and bought the pump.
The vibration sound is very minimal, compared to three commercial 45watt air pumps I had. I now hear a light hissing sound. Happy with the purchase. Built a shelf just for the pump. Decided to buy air filters to build an air filter box for the pump.

We recently purchased this pump to supply air in the fish room we are building for our breeding business. We wanted small compact and powerful and let's not forget quiet. Previously we have many small pumps that could only provide enough air for a couple tanks. Let me tell you this thing is amazing. Currently we have 60 drops and are going to be 40-50 more. It's so quiet you hardly hear it when you are in the room. I can't recommend this guy enough. Cory and Dean definitely did a good job recommending it on their videos. 5th Day Aquatics is a very happy customer!

I originally purchased this pump when I grew tired of paying PGE so much for running all of my small air pumps! Well, I also got tired of running a bunch of heaters, so I put (almost) all of my aquariums in one room and built an air loop using 1" PVC. This pump sits high on a shelf in the neighboring room and runs all of my aquariums. I recently added a second pump because my breeding program is more efficient when I use lots of smaller aquariums. They are both running now and filling my tanks with all of the air needed. I currently have 66 tanks in that room and two of the tanks require two sponge filters. I can't recommend these pumps highly enough.

It took my 11 year old to open my eyes to the fact that I keep buying "cheap" diaphragm pumps and have definitely spent more on them over the years than the cost of this pump. It came packaged in great shape and I got to work figuring it all out.
Initially I tried connecting my 3/4 ID vinyl hose directly to the pump, but no matter what I did I had some air leaking around it. I finally used the included connector and purchased a 3/4 straight hose barb to connect the pump connector to the vinyl tubing and that did the trick.
Running the PVC loop was no problem, I found 1 1/4" clamps from the electrical section perfect for mounting the 1 inch pvc.
My "show tanks" are on the first floor while my "fish room" with the air loop is directly below them in the basement. It's easy to drill holes to pop airlines down and connect but I also, for various reasons, didn't want the air running all the time in some of the show tanks... so I Teed off the main 1 inch air loop and added a 3/4 solenoid powered on a smart plug. This way I can time when the air connected past the solenoid turns on and off.
I also read it is important to extend the life of the piston pump to not operate under too much pressure. I added a 1/4 inch low pressure gauge to monitor it. I used a 1/4 inch male threaded push connector and installed it in the PVC the same way as the you install the air valves. Then used some 1/4 inch tubing to connect the gauge.
On the one corner of the loop I added a gate valve with a "muffler"... this way I can look at the gauge and if my pressure was too high I can crack the gate valve and get it tuned just right. It makes a small hiss sound but nothing too bad. I keep it at just under 2 psi.
I figured I would attach a picture showing the piston pump and if you look below it in the cinder blocks that is all the air pumps that it replaced!
So far so good.. should pay for itself in short order.

I bought this LPAP 4 years ago. Today, I just changed the filter for the first time (not recommending this lack of maintenance). Admittedly, there is a decent air filter in the room, but given the unfaltering service this pump has provided in that time, I thought it would be in for worse. Knowing how absolutely easy it was to change the filter, I'll be doing it more frequently. But, I would recommend this pump to anyone no hesitation!

This thing has some power! I went from it to 3/4” hose, then to 1” pvc. Painted the pvc black with some spray paint. It looks professional and works crazy well! I hope to have it for 20+ years. The only thing I wish they also sold is the plumbing needed to include a bleeder valve, silencer, and air pressure guage. I’m worried about having too much back pressure on the pump, shortening the life of it. Right now I just used an extra individual metal valve and have it all the way open. The extra valve is loud though..

I love this pump. It has been running for 8 months so far. It is running twelve aquariums with multiple accessories and depths. I definitely recommend this pump to anyone with a fish room. I put a bleeder airstone on the system as I hope this pump goes on forever.

I should have got this years ago. Voluminous air supply in a small size and almost as quiet as one small Tetra air pump. I'm currently running about twenty sponge filters in 10 to 30-gallon aquariums plus my brine shrimp hatchery and several fry trays, and I could easily add more. I feed a four-tank cluster in an adjacent room off one small air hose line about 10 feet in length from my main air loop and it pushes plenty of air to all those tanks. Very glad Aquarium Co-Op carries this item. Pictures are all the tanks I'm running off this, mostly equipped with the black and clear dual sponge filters.

These blowers, I have two, are very nice and reliable!! I needed two to adequately run my tanks, one was not enough, the amount of tanks that Cory claims one blower can run is not accurate in my opinion, it’s much less. I use a single sponge filter per tank and with one blower, their was not enough air to run them correctly. Two of these blowers works great!!!
Although, for the price of two, I could have just bought a larger blower and saved a couple hundred dollars. If I had known one pump was not enough for my fish room, I’d definitely have gone a different route. Even Wild Fish tanks, among others, on YouTube were told one pump would run his small fish room in his garage, even he/they, needed to buy two.
So, if you are at the upper limit of what this blower is claimed to be able to handle, I’d opt out for a larger blower instead of spending the cash on two of these!
They make a larger model that can be purchased at other places. I wish Cory would have stocked the larger model when I needed it.

This little thing is A work horse, quite strong and reliable, definitely worth the money

It's running a 1" pvc hoop and it's running more than 50 tanks... mostly 10s and 20s in that room...! So far, so good...!

Such a pleasant surprise! I have replaced 3 noisy/underpowered diaphragm air pumps with one QUIET and POWERFUL piston air pump.

The (somewhat dark) photo shows the 3/4" PVC air manifold mounted to the underside of my floor joists with seven air drops to my 5 tanks (2 x 20-g long; 1 x 29 g; 1 x 30g breeder; 1 x 40g breeder) having a total of 7 Aquarium Co-Op Sponge Filters.

excellent, quiet and powerful air pump. Used to have an Alita al-35m which ran my 47 tanks but struggled as it was undersized for my needs. Works great! Running more than 22 tanks & room to grow! Great upgrade & super quiet, now the loudest thing in the fish room is the Brine shrimp incubator!

I got mine about 8 months ago and couldn't ask for a better product. It's running 55 tanks without a problem and is super quiet.

Ok so I could have driven up to the coop to get one, but it wasn’t an immediate need and I didn’t feel like driving through Seattle on I-5 during the pre-snow-panic. Plus my car needed gas and I just didn’t feel like it.

So I literally placed the order at like 3:30 yesterday, and then today at about 11:30 I get a quick door knock and see my air pump sitting there.

My fish room isn’t even set up yet lmao! It will be hermetically sealed in the box until I get to the point where I can use it, so I can’t review the pump itself just yet. I am just so floored by the fast shipping I absolutely had to write something about it.
