If you already own an Aquarium Co-Op sponge filter but wish you had greater water circulation, get the Easy Flow Upgrade Kit. By lengthening and curving the uplift tube, water flows out of the sponge filter horizontally across the water surface, increasing the current and oxygenation in the fish tank. No need for an air stone because it also comes with an air collar that creates smaller bubbles for quieter sound and optimized sponge filter performance. It works with the Aquarium Co-Op small, medium, and large sponge filters, as well as our nano sponge filters made after 2023.

Increase Circulation in Your Aquarium

The Easy Flow Sponge Filter Upgrade Kit creates a directional current in your aquarium. This is good for delivering nutrients to plants and sweeping debris back to the filter. It also benefits fish by giving them something to swim against.

No Air Stone Needed

Our air collar replaces the need for an air stone. Uniform bubbles with the airline on the outside delivers better even flow, which increases the flow rate and reduces noise. No more glug, glug, glug sound. Use a small pipe brush to clean the collar during monthly maintenance.

Added these to two existing sponge filters. Improved water flow/circulation and made them quieter. Great product.

No air line fuss

The air holes clog up over time, I soaked mine in vinegar overnight, then pumped a syringe of water through them a few times, and they are blasting air again. The vinegar and syringe were suggested by co-op support. This is better than the old style that used airstones because the airline got hard after some time, then the airstones would fall out of them especially when putting the filter tops back on after cleaning the filter, then it was either the loud glug glug noise of big bubbles or constantly fussing with replacing the airline pieces. This new style has an airline holder that helps to keep the hardened and expanded ends airline in place on the air collar after the airline hardens. It would be great if Cory would invent some airline that didn't get hard in water. It would also be great to have "no clog" air collars. Co-op was or is selling no clog airstones, how about using that material for the air holes in these air collars?

Do it! The upgrade is totally worth it.

Easy peasy lemon squeezy to add to my ACO sponge filter. Really appreciate the video explanation. Took me all of 2 minutes to install. Flow has significantly improved and my filter is already looking messy from the additional suction.

Shipping Policy

We process and ship out 98%+ of our shipments next business day. 

Live plants will ship using an appropriate service and typically arrive in 2 to 5 business days. Transit times do not include weekends, holidays, or weather delays. To avoid delays in the shipping network we recommend ordering live plants on Saturdays and Sundays for a Monday ship out.

Dry goods such as fish food, medication, filtration products, etc. can be ordered any day and will ship the next business day with an appropriate service. Typical shipping times are 1 to 7 business day transit time, depending on delivery location. 

Faster shipping options available at checkout for an additional charge.

Alaska and Hawaii have a $17.99 surcharge. We do not ship to Puerto Rico currently.
