  • Raises pH
  • Increases KH to buffer pH
  • Adds some hardness to water

If you have softer water with low pH, KH, and GH and wish you could keep aquarium fish, shrimp, and snails that need higher pH, crushed coral is a gentle and safe way to buffer your water. Crushed coral dissolves continuously over time. The lower your pH is, the faster it dissolves. As the pH rises, it slows down how fast the coral dissolves. Crushed coral adds a bit of hardness to the water, and it significantly boosts KH which buffers pH from swinging.

Useful in Filters or Substrate

One of the easiest and safest ways to prevent harmful pH swings in your water is to increase the KH in your water by adding crushed coral to your aquarium. You can either use it as the substrate or pour a small amount into a filter media bag to use in your hang-in-back, canister, or other media-filled filter.

2

Rinse Before Using

Because this product is made by crushing coral, there may be some small particles or coral dust in the bag. Make sure to pour the crushed coral into a fish net and thoroughly rinse it under running water (with no soap) to prevent cloudy water in your aquarium.

Cryshed coral

I still need more time to see if the crushed coral will buffer my tank to keep up my PH level. Need to give it about 2 weeks for tge coral ti dissolve.

Trying for My Guppies

I bought this to help with the water conditions for my guppies. After washing, I scattered some around in the sand, then put a bunch in a mesh bag and just set in a back corner of my tank. Using the test strips from Aquarium Co-op, it seems to be helping in better readings for hardness and buffering. So far so good and I am really happy with the results. Definitely a good addition.

Great for raising kh

I have low KH ,ph in my tanks so I add this and it helps greatly. Wish it was sold in bigger bags. I have tried aragonite but don’t get the same results. Thanks guys for a good product and great customer service.

Worked for my tank!

I put 3 lbs of crushed coral in my 3 month old tank that has STS substrate in it, along with some cuttlebone and a small dose of Alkaline buffer (no fish in tank at the time so as not to cause shock) and after 1 week the ph and KH are very stable! Fish went back in and are doing fine!

I’ve used a whole bag on my 10 gallon tank

Ive used a whole bag on my 10 gallon tank which was chronically at 5.5 pH but once I used this it instantly brought my pH up to 7.5 within 24 hours. And after a few water changes and weeks it has been at 6.8-7.0 pH, highly recommend.

Crushed coral to slowly add calcium

I recently moved and my new home has more acidic water than my previous home. I have snails so I am always adding calcium but I wanted to use a slow release source. I understand coral will raise my pH a little so that will be a plus for me. I have mixed it with my substrate before, but then the white looks odd with my gravel, so I’m using a mesh bag to hold it.

Perfect fix!!!

Had low ph in several tanks below 6. The guppies were all I’m at the waters surface and I had several ti die. I checked the ph and it was really low. I ordered crushed coral and it arrived very quickly. Time was of the essence. I added it to my filters. Within a hour the ph had started to rise. The guppies were swimming normally again. I have added this to 3 separate tanks and it has worked Everytime.

Perfect solution for ph buffer

My local tap water starts around 7.2 and drops to 6.4 within 24 hours. I decided to add crushed coral in a small mesh bag and have maintained around 7.4 ph for about 2.5 weeks. Today I removed the bag and shifted the coral bits around and put back in the tank..hoping for a longer usage out of my first mesh bag! 🤞

Good quality

This is good quality crushed coral: no shells or shards of broken shells etc. Just coral.
I added 2 bags(2 lbs) to my 38 gallon tank. Mixed into my gravel. I find it easiest to rinse it in a fish net and then just add it to the tank with the net.

Excellent product and delivery

Delivery was impeccable. The crushed coral is dusty but not a huge mess in the box with my other items.

I have a decorative cap in my tank and I mix this with the gravel and sand to add more texture visually to my tank.

I’ve been having issues with my water levels in my tank and this seems to have solved my problem.

This was smaller than I imagined when I received it,(unlike the bio rings), but 1lb nonetheless.

Snail Cure

I got this for my two snails, as my water is pretty soft and I was worried about their shells getting enough calcium. After about a week, the one snail who I was most worried about looks to have a strengthened shell and the other one is doing great! Make sure you rinse it out thoroughly, otherwise there is a lot of dust. It comes in a double packaged plastic bag so no worries about breaking open and making a mess, there are some whole shells in there so you know it is truly pure crushed shells/coral.

Phenomenal crushed coral

I’m so pleased with my purchase, it got here super fast, and the coral helped me safely bring my aquarium ph up. It was my first time ordering from aquarium co-op, and I couldn’t have asked for an easier experience.

Kh in a bag

Definitely take the time to rinse it. I was having kh issues. Crushed coral saved the day. I put mine directly in the gravel. The pieces are small enough that it blends in nicely. If I need more calcium, I’ll add it to my box filter. I definitely recommend this (and all) and all products by ACO. 💚
