Theses are great! I now have 3. Works like a champ and great to keep the population down.
I've cut the snail population in my tank down considerably. It's really made it easier to keep them in check.
By far the easiest way to pull bladder snails out of tanks without crushing them to feed to the puffers. And arms don't get soaking wet!
Only can attack snails on the glass obviously but works real good at it. I get ready right as my lights are turning on and just roll it all over the glass and get as many as I can because one tank is filled with MTS. Even had my girlfriend and friends try it out and have fun with it too.
A better solution than most. I use the traps but harder to keep shrimps out of the traps. It works okay, but not perfect. The spinning wheels spin by the flow of water. So the snails at the surface are harder to get because the wheel wont spin out of water. The storage part flips open so you can access the snails. Use a small tool to get the snails out. I feed the snails to my pea puffers.
The snail catcher works like a charm. It is super easy to operate. The only improvement would be a longer telescopic handle for tall tanks. Works way faster than assassin snails.
Doesn’t work that well. The paddle wheel doesn’t rotate so I just nock off the snails. I catch more with my hand.
My son has a snail problem in his fish fank. He researched for a solution to his problem and came up with this snail catcher. It has worked great.
This little thing works like a charm. Drag it along the glass and the little rubbery wheel whisks the snails off the glass and Into the catcher. Catch ‘em as fast as you can! It is like a game! I know I should stop over feeding my tanks and that would help, but I’ve got lots of fish and love to feed (which feeds the snails too). Lots of water changes and lots of the ‘Catch that Snail!’ Game.
This is a quick way to remove pond snails from my aquarium. (yes, I over feed). I have noticed that the way I sometimes hold the gadget the wheel does not always rotate, and it just ends up releasing the snail from the wall and they fall to the bottom of the tank; to be picked up the next time. Some of the larger snails do not fit so well between the wheel and the entry gap to the catch bin. All in all I am glad this snail catcher is available, I can remove up to 15 snails that would normally take me to just remove just one snail with the tweezers without fear of crushing them back into the tank. The extendable handle is sturdy and helps to keep the hands out of the tank. Good product.
