Simply place the Easy Shrimp and Snail Shells into your aquarium. Your invertebrates will be drawn to them, consuming the shells at their own pace. Alternatively, allow the shells to sit and dissolve, gradually releasing calcium and minerals into the water to maintain appropriate hardness levels. Regular replacement is recommended to ensure a consistent supply of these essential nutrients. Please note: If your shrimp and snails are not visibly consuming this product, know that it is still effective by dissolving in the water and releasing necessary minerals and nutrients into the water column.
Some loose guidelines:
- Add 1 shell per month or after each water change, whichever comes first.
- Monitor hardness in aquarium and adjust use accordingly.

My neocaridina shrimp love these. It does leave behind a residue, but a quick vacuum between shells will remedy the situation. It's a great source of both calcium and food. I like to place it near the front of my aquarium because there is always a shrimp or two nibbling away at it which makes for good shrimp watching.

Originally, I bought this product for my shrimp and snails and they loved it. Though, I worried that it would just sit there and dissolve like the wonder shells but my cleanup crew actively grazed on the shells. I was sold on them, as I didn’t have to buy banquet blocks and calcium shells. The easy shell does it all. It was then that I noticed my mollies and rosy barbs nibbling away at the very same shells. I purchased half a dozen Otocinclus catfish and found them latching on to the shells. My Chinese algae eater also enjoys snacking on the easy shells. These shells are definitely not just for shrimp and snails. Also, save a little if you can and grab the bag of 100. They are shelf stable (I double bagged mine to be safe).

I buy these in bulk for my baby Amano shrimpies! I was able to raise baby Amano shrimplets in salt water, definitely a challenging project but so rewarding and they need calcium since they molt a lot! These shells are terrific and so convenient!

As you can see, this little green shell brings all the snails to the yard! If you’re wondering what to feed your snails, look no further. Shrimp love it, too! I’ve even seen my fish peck at the easy shrimp and snail shells. I highly recommend the 100 pack. First hour of it being in the tank a few blueberry snails jumped right on it, they didnt stay long but they kept coming back. I wasnt sure the blueberries would take to it but they sure did.

My shrimp and snails basically ignore this. It’s good for dissolving in the water I guess but there’s no chewing on it or anything like that.

While I have fairly hard water, I still found this product very beneficial. My shrimp and snails really enjoyed this product. My shrimp went to the shells within minutes of it entering the tank. The shrimp didn't seem to care about it right away, but after a few days they started to go crazy for it. I think it just needed a little time to start developing biofilm. I plan on ordering more in the future!

I tried these because wonder shell prices are getting too expensive. The shrimp took to them within seconds of me placing the calcium shells in the aquarium. (Don’t mind the screen spot algae I need to scrub)
