I had my20 gallon long tank for 3 weeks and still had nitrite with six serpae tetras. Had alge water where I couldn't even see my fish. I bought some more live plants and a bottle of bio bacteria starter. After 2 days the alge and nitrite went away. The water is super clear now. These rings are gold! Cut my “break in period” in half or more from using these bacteria rings! Happy little fishes in my tank!

I used the Aquarium Co‑Op Live Aquarium Bacteria Starter Culture on my new 36‑gallon tank, and I’m genuinely impressed with how well it worked. My 36‑gallon cycled in half the time it took for me to cycle my 10‑gallon column tank.

My 10‑gallon was a learning experience — the kind where you figure things out the hard way, but you come out smarter for it. That tank taught me how important it is to support the cycle properly, and it also taught me that I didn’t want to repeat that long, stressful process on a bigger tank.

This live aquarium bacteria seemed to really speed up the time it took for my tank to be stable. It would be interesting to set up an experiment with two identical tanks and compare speeds with and without. However, from my one experience, it did seem to help things get moving faster. I really like that this comes straight from a running tank and not from a bottle that's been on the shelf for months. Another plus is that it comes with bio rings. I'm setting up another aquarium soon, and can use the bio rings in my current tanks (from this bottle) to seed the new tank. All in all, I would definitely recommend this product.

I needed to instantly cycle two 5gal betta tanks, because I’m incapable of walking away from two of the most beautiful bettas I’ve ever seen. That meant I had to build two tanks from scratch in one day with no established cycle.

I ordered this immediately after I impulsively bought the two bettas, and I’m SO glad I did. I live in rural Missouri, and I believe this shipped from Washington. It arrived so quickly and in excellent condition.

There was more than enough beneficial bacteria and Biorings than what I needed. I packed as many rings as I could fit into the canister section of each dual sponge filter, and by the next day, the tank was cycled.

Granted, each 5gal tank only has one little betta, but this product did exactly what I bought it to do. I couldn’t be happier with the results!

I ordered this for a new tank that I was very anxious to "speed-cycle". My old tank suffered some damage and I needed to move its residents quickly. These Bio-Rings, which come complete with cycled aquarium water, helped me rehouse all my fish (and one turtle named Bruce) into their new home safely. I did use as much media and substrate from the old tank as possible, but I really think these Bio-Rings really aided in the process. I had a few rings leftover and we even added them to our compost bin for the garden! Great product, highly recommend!

The Live Aquarium Bacteria Starter Culture made tearing down and building up my aquarium with canister filter worry free. I dropped two bottles of starter culture into my Fluval 207, waited a day to let the sand settle, and was able to transfer fish and plants without a single casualty.

This would be a five-star review if I'd used the product more than twice. I will say, though, that both times I've used Aquarium Co-op's "Beyonce rings," the tanks cycled one to two weeks faster than they did without the rings. Next time I set up a filter, you can bet I'll order another bottle of these babies!

This helped me so much even having my own tanks to use I put these in my filter and the water that was with it . I had a sponge filter from one of my other tanks put that in with it. I put some fish flakes in daily for a few days . I also put some stability in it tested it after a week I had 0 ammonia,0 nitrite, and 5 of nitrates . I put some tetras in it and everything is still the same.
