Activ Betta Bio-Activ Gravel is a natural aquarium substrate packed with beneficial bacteria to help speed up the cycling of your aquarium. This allows for the addition of fish into a set up sooner than using non-active substrate as the bacteria can begin consuming ammonia right away.

Definitely has beneficial bacteria! A day after adding there was a bacteria bloom! Cleared up the next day😊 I love the color as well, it's black but it has a hint of green specs in it. Overall its exactly as described.👍

Love that I do not have to rinse this stuff plus it isn’t messy to place unlike sand can be. This substrate is nice and fine but not as super fine like sand, but still soft. I love that it is bioactive and is helpful for cycling a new tank or preparing a hospitalized tank. Only wish it came in a bigger size
