I really like this gravel. I did not need to rinse it before using it, which made setup much easier. Just to be safe, I kept my betta out of the tank for about an hour or a little longer after adding it.
I bought 3 bags for a 3-gallon tank, but honestly, I probably should have bought 4 or 5 bags if I wanted a fuller look. Still, it looks very natural and seems very safe for bettas. It gives the tank a clean, realistic appearance that I really like.

Saved A Good Chunk of Time
While I wouldn't say this instantly cycled my new tank, it definitely shaved a couple of weeks off the process. It also helped keep ammonia and nitrite levels from spiking or getting as crazy as they had been before adding the gravel.
The black color looks great in the tank, has an interesting amber sheen to it under the LED lights, and my Betta enjoys resting on it sometimes.

Good stuff
Nice and pretty substrate. Smaller grain than I was expecting but very pretty with plants, holds the roots really well!
