For a just in case, it works! It takes two "D" batteries and it has a clip to hang to the back of the tank.
Well it happened no electricity for 10 hours. Hooked it up worked great. Everyone needs to have at least Two of these just in case. Great buy.
I also have to add something about your delivery, I have ordered quite a few things in the past couple of months from you your service is excellent you get your products out and I have them with in five days at the most . Thank you thank you.
We had a power outage a couple of weeks ago in Seattle which lasted about an hour. I swapped out the plugged-in air pump with the Marina battery air pump and it worked great. Didn’t have to worry about the fish getting enough oxygen. Bought another one for my second tank.
Having a way of providing surface agitation (resulting in oxygenated water) is critical for keeping fish health in an aquarium. We cannot always rely on our electricity to work (power outages, etc.). Having a battery operated pump like this is peace of mind and will ensure that you (and your fish!) will be okay if the power goes out. This is also VERY useful if you are moving and will have your fish outside of an aquarium for a few days.
These saved my fish during a power outage. I run sponge filters so this was perfect...they are a bit noisy but exactly what you would expect from a battery powered air pump.
