The secret sauce for an aquarium has always been Live Aquarium Bacteria. Getting a starter culture that was clean wasn't always easy. You can ask at a fish store, but you may get disease, snails, duckweed etc. We set out to provide live aquarium bacteria that would be as trouble-free as possible. The bio rings are packed with mulm and water from their aquarium the day we ship them out.

Other live bacteria cultures need to be able to sit on a shelf for months at a time. Often time, these cultures are in a "dormant phase". Ours is simply fresh from our goldfish pooping factory, to a bottle, and into the mail to your door. We don't store this in a bottle on a shelf, we collect the rings and mulm water fresh and put it into your package and ship it. Put the bio rings and water into your aquarium the day you receive it in the mail.

This worked great!

I decided to try this for my newest tank and my tank cycled in less than two weeks. So simple, clean and easy. Thank you so much!

Great fresh product!

I have a 10 gal tank that crashed about two months ago and lost a couple of my Pygmy Cories. I removed the Betta but couldn't wrangle the Cories. Started dosing with beneficial bacteria products and detox products. Since then I have struggled to get past the Nitrite stage of the cycle and ammonia started to rise again. Decided to try these established bio rings and I am impressed! 3/25 - A 1.0, N 2.0, 3/28 - no chg, 3/29 - A .1, N 1.5, 3/30 - A .1, N .1, 3/31 - A .0, N .0. Wow! 5 days! Definitely recommend!

Dumped the water and rings into a half cycled tank. No issues with it, unsure if it actually accelerated the cycling time. But I needed filter media for my canister filter anyway, so adding live cultured rings is a great idea.

By golly those sons of guns did it! My new 30 gallon patio pond was stalled two weeks into cycling. I had seeded it with media from my other tank, but my nitrites would not budge. After adding those magic rings I was fully cycled 24 hours later. I even did an ammonia test to confirm. Amazing product!
My one note would be the labeling. I was going to wait a week to add the product, but I happened to watch the Aquarium Co-op video about it, which made it clear you must add it right away the day of receiving. I got lucky. Nowhere on the bottle does it warn about shelf life. You might want to add information about the nature of this truly “live” bacteria so people get the full benefits. I highly recommend this product, just remember not to let it sit.
