No More Floating Plants

One of the all-too-common problems with new stem plants is that they often come with no roots and won't stay planted in the substrate. Not to worry — just wrap one of these plant weights at the base of the plant, approximately 1 inch from the bottom. Then bury the plant weight into the ground and the plant will stay in place.

Safe for Fish, Shrimp, and Snails

The plant weights are made from tin and are soft and malleable. In our decades-long experience, plant weights are completely safe for fish, invertebrates, and more.

I have bought them for years now and they were great, however, the last four bags off them are the cheap, garbage ones that come from nursery plants...!?! Plus they're just over half of the weight of the old ones...!?! The good old ones were 4.48 grams... The new ones are 2.80 grams...!?! And now if you're a member, you have to jump through more hoops just to order...!!??!! Not happy about any of y'alls recent changes...!!! Y'all can do better, I've witnessed it...!?! There's a reason why I don't order anything online and yall are pushing me away fast...!!! So, my review is: DON'T BUY unless you want garbage...!!!

Plant weights

I was getting tired of my plants rising up out of the gravel, so I decided to try these plant weights. They were very easy to manipulate around the base of the plant and then place in the gravel. I’ve had plant weights on several plants for about a week now and every plant is staying put!

Plant weights

They work well... I use them for plants, but I also use them to hold down the Ziss air stones... use two of them on your air line just above the air stone, one isn't enough... Thanks for these little pieces of lead... Great idea & they work very well... Keep up y'alls awesomeness and go enjoy some nature today...

Many uses

You can make it into an S-shape and hang it on the tank rim, and it will hold your usb nano air pump. You can also wrap it around your vegetables when you feed your cute snail
friends. You can attach anubias to spiderwood with it.

Handy weights

I am new to aquariums and keeping plants. I always make a mess with glue n this works great for my ferns or any plants that doesn’t need to be buried in substrate. Not sure if there is a difference between these and other suppliers but I try to buy what I need from Aquarium Co-Op 1st bc I believe in what they represent and feel a sense of loyalty to them for all that I have learned from the videos and blogs

Plant Weights are the best!!!

If you have or are starting a "planted" aquarium these are a must!!!! Plants float & these will help to keep them anchored where you want them.

Planting lifesaver!

Love these! Makes planting so easy. No more fighting to get the plants to stay where you want them, wrap a plant weight around the base and stuff it in the substrate!

Cut 'em in half and get twice as many!

For smaller stems, use a pair of kitchen scissors and cut them down by half to get a perfect little ring. Works perfectly!

Exactly as advertised

I received exactly what I expected. My fish were constantly tugging on the leaves of my new, smaller plants and I would find them floating on the surface in the morning. These have solved that issue for me.

So useful

Quickly solve so many problems! Initially I was worried that these weights would be leeching lead into the water and slowly poisoning my fish and local ground water, but apparently they don't, so full speed ahead. Seriously though, I have a goldfish. The ONLY way I can keep stems planted is with weights.

Also, the co-op's price is unbeatable. Amazon sells the same thing for $7 more per bag. So buy two or three bags here, then some plants to justify the shipping fee.

Plant weights

I am using these to hold down my rhizome plants so the roots will establish themselves in the substrate instead of gluing to rocks or wood. So far I love the look it provided.

I was tired of my bucephalandra and anubias floating around my tank every day, so I got some plant weights, cut them up into smaller pieces, and used it to keep the plants in place on platforms, the substrate, and in the rocky hardscape. The plants finally stopped moving, and now they can settle and anchor on their own in time.

These are so much better than the older version of the weights they used to sell. These are much more flexible so it’s easy to wrap around the bottom of stem plants. They’re also light without being so lightweight that they float.
