This air filter keeps debris from entering your air system. Without an air filter, particles such as pet hair, dust and other contaminants can get into your system and clog up your airlines or worse cause pump damage.
Check air filter every 6 months for debris build up. Depending on environment the pump is run in, replacement could be once every few months to every few years. The cleaner the intake air, the less frequent you'll need to change the air filter.

Makes maintenance a breeze just ordered a few, replaced 1 with a few simple steps. And took a zip lock bag for the extra wrote the date of the recent change and taped the extra to the pumps side so I have a reminder now of when the last maintenance was done and I have the extra filter. Any time I buy something with filters I try and snag a spare or two right off the bat to have one hand when needed.

Bought it as I have the LP pump in my fishroom. Pump is new but the day will come. When that day does come I’ll be ready. I know it’s good cause ACO sells it. ACO don’t sell no garbage. One of my favorite things about this company is they use what they sell and that eliminates the guesswork.

Super fast website, everything came exactly on time, plenty of shipping updates, no frills packaging, very good customer service, and simple products that work aquarium co-op is a winner!. I haven't used the replacement air filter yet, but I'm sure its fine. Cory cares a lot about his company and the hobby and it shows!, I'll be returning to get plants etc. in the future :)
- I recommend purchasing this part when you buy your air pump. That way it is on hand when you do eventually need it.
- It only takes a few seconds and a screwdriver to change the filter. It can be done one handed and is easy to access from the top of the pump.
- If everything were as easy as changing out this part then I'd have a lot more time sitting in front of my tanks.
