Potassium is a very important macronutrient for planted aquariums. If aquatic plants don't get enough of this nutrient, they can develop distinctive pinholes that are sometimes rimmed with brown or yellow. While Easy Green all-in-one fertilizer already contains plenty of potassium for most planted tanks, Easy Potassium is a useful supplemental fertilizer for people who are running high light planted tanks with CO₂ injection or have lots of potassium-hungry plants (like java fern and anubias).

Signs of Potassium Deficiency

Look for pinholes in your plant leaves. Adding more potassium won't repair current damaged leaves, but it can prevent new leaves that grow from getting holes.

Why Do I Need More Potassium?

Easy Green has high concentrations of potassium in it already. However, some plants such as Java ferns and Anubias like to consume a lot of potassium. Also, sometimes your tap water can be high in nitrates, phosphates, and iron. Your plants love this but are left starved for more potassium. Aquarium fertilizers need to be in balance. Water structure and plant choice can cause the need for additional potassium.

Great supplement for Anubias and Java Ferns!

I got this to use as an additional supplement for the Anubias and Java Ferns in my tanks, and it’s working great. Highly recommend this as a great way to provide targeted support for those plants that benefit from higher potassium levels. The dosing cap is very handy as well — it’s much easier to dose correctly for tanks smaller than 10 gallons.

I have had struggles with Java ferns for a year in all four of my tanks. I added Easy Potassium based on a recommendation from Cory. They are now growing much faster and are getting big after six months. I dose once per week, sometimes twice. I highly recommend this product if your Java ferns seem to be just getting by.

Live plants will ship using an appropriate service and typically arrive in 2 to 5 business days. Transit times do not include weekends, holidays, or weather delays. To avoid delays in the shipping network we recommend ordering live plants on Saturdays and Sundays for a Monday ship out.

Dry goods such as fish food, medication, filtration products, etc. can be ordered any day and will ship the next business day with an appropriate service. Typical shipping times are 1 to 7 business day transit time, depending on delivery location.
