Green Easy Flow Sponge Filter (coarse)

Very nice quality sponge filter. The sponge is dense and coarse, which allows for strong water flow while still providing excellent filtration. The piping and connectors feel sturdy and well made. The streamlined design looks clean in the tank, and the green color blends in nicely with a planted setup. Overall, very impressed with the quality

Sponge filters are simple and efficient. Aquarium co-op somehow managed to make the best one by optimizing its efficiency a little more, keeping it quiet, and allowing it to create a flow too. All sponge filters are pretty much the same but these ones are different. I literally ordered about a dozen sponge filters from different manufacturers to test side by side and the easy flow filters are by far my favorite. I have them in both black and green for different tanks. The green blends in well with plants and the black blends well in open spaces in front of black backgrounds. The only gripe one can make about these filters is the collar be an unnecessary complication by adding the possibility of it getting clogged, but Aquarium Co-op tells you upfront there’s a chance it can clog and provides cleaning instructions to prevent it. Plus they offer inexpensive replacement collars if needed. There is no reason the Easy Flow Sponge Filters shouldn’t be everyone’s #1 option when considering a sponge filter.

I watched your YouTube video in which you rated all the different types of filters. The sponge filter is the one that I purchased and I’m so glad I did. It was easy to assemble, easy to clean and works perfectly. Also, it’s very quiet.
