This is a liquid test kit for KH. KH helps prevent PH from going up or down which helps maintain a healthy ecosystem in your aquarium.

GH is for measuring how many hardness minerals are in your water. All fish want some minerals but things like Guppies, Mollies, Platies, Swordtails, Goldfish, African Cichlids and more like lots of minerals which is easiest to test for by using a GH test kit.

Directions:

For Testing KH

1. Rinse a clean test tube with water to be tested.

2. Fill the test tube with 5 ml of water to be tested (to the line on the tube).

3. Holding the bottle vertically, add KH Test Solution, one drop at a time. Be sure to count the number of drops being added.

4. Cap the test tube and invert several times after each drop.

5. The test is completed when the water in the test tube, after having been shaken, turns from blue to yellow. If you have difficulty discerning the color after the first drop of test solution is added, remove the cap from the test tube and, while holding it over a white background, look down through the tube.

6. The KH value is determined by the number of drops of test solution that must be added to turn the water in the test tube bright yellow.

For Testing GH

1. Rinse a clean test tube with water to be tested.

2. Fill the test tube with 5 ml of water to be tested (to the line on the tube).

4. Cap the test tube and invert several times after each drop.

5. The test is completed when the water in the test tube, after having been shaken, turns from orange to green. If you have difficulty discerning the color after the first drop of test solution is added, remove the cap from the test tube and, while holding it over a white background, look down through the tube.

6. The GH value is determined by the number of drops of reagent that must be added to turn the water in the test tube green.

It works

I have an R.O.D.I. and remineralize. With this kit it shows me exactly what I am adding with the seachem equilibrium. Thanks Aquarium Co-op.

GH/KH Test Kit was easy to read just wish to learn on how to lower things too. But love it.

I understand using the drops part but when watching some videos of your shrimp need between 0-3KH or GH It don't say that on that paper. Had some friends on FB that helped me understand this test kit for my shrimp . And oh my everyone tells me I have to get my GH/KH lower from where I am for my shrimp they couldn't believe they were alive and swimming all over tank..KH was 8 and GH 13 the first time I tested. I have guppies, neons and cory catfish with shrimp in one tank. My other tank has shrimp and beta that was high but I'm doing my best on lowering things. Thanks to Cory's videos he helps with a lot of things along with Flip Aquatics and LRB Aquatics. I just keep learning new things thanks.

Simple test kit

Easy to use kit. Not so easy to understand unless you watch a few YouTube vids. Helped giving me piece of mind after setting up my auto water change system
