I understand using the drops part but when watching some videos of your shrimp need between 0-3KH or GH It don't say that on that paper. Had some friends on FB that helped me understand this test kit for my shrimp . And oh my everyone tells me I have to get my GH/KH lower from where I am for my shrimp they couldn't believe they were alive and swimming all over tank..KH was 8 and GH 13 the first time I tested. I have guppies, neons and cory catfish with shrimp in one tank. My other tank has shrimp and beta that was high but I'm doing my best on lowering things. Thanks to Cory's videos he helps with a lot of things along with Flip Aquatics and LRB Aquatics. I just keep learning new things thanks.
Easy to use kit. Not so easy to understand unless you watch a few YouTube vids. Helped giving me piece of mind after setting up my auto water change system
I did my test and I'm still confused. I have a 29 gallon Aquarium with Platies, Guppies, Mollies, 2 ghost shrimp, 2 Corey cats and 1 Pleco. I have hard City water KH 6 drops = 107.4
GH 10 drops = 179
So how do I fix it and what number am I supposed to have with my tank. My other stuff such as Nitrites and ammonia are normal but I'm not sure on my Nitrates yet eating on getting the API Freshwater test kit getting it on Friday. Just need some help????????
I have many aquariums, ranging from full high tech planted tanks, to reef tanks, brackish tanks and African cichlid tanks. This test kit is a great way for me to measure the hardness of the water in each tank so that I may ensure that they have the best water conditions for the inhabitants.
This is an easy-to-use test kit. Make sure that you READ THE INSTRUCTIONS, and that you DO NOT THROW AWAY THE INSTRUCTIONS. Having the instructions available at all times will ensure that you are using the test kit properly.
My fish tanks are "visually" well maintained i.e. heavily planted, frequent water changes, etc. But certain fish species never seemed to do well in my tanks. So, I got this kit to get a better understanding of the water chemistry in my area...continually trying to learn more about the hobby.
