Increase Circulation in Your Aquarium

The Easy Flow Sponge Filter creates a directional current in your aquarium. This is good for delivering nutrients to plants and sweeping debris back to the filter. It also benefits fish by giving them something to swim against.

Adjustable Height for Different Tank Sizes

The Easy Flow curved uplift tube has an adjustable height, allowing you to use it for both small and big tanks. Use our sizing chart to find the perfect sponge filter for your aquarium. Ideally, the tube opening should sit 1/3 out of the water and 2/3 in the water.

No Air Stone Needed

Our air collar replaces the need for an air stone. Uniform bubbles with the airline tubing on the outside delivers better even flow, which increases the flow rate and reduces noise. No more glug, glug, glug sound. Use a small pipe brush or toothbrush to clean the collar during monthly maintenance.

Blends in With Plants

The green color blends in with plants and helps hide any green algae on the tubing. But it's still transparent enough to see the uniform flow and ensure your filter is working properly at a glance.

Extra Heavy Base

Our extra heavy weighted base helps the sponge filter sinks right away. Give the sponge a squeeze when you put it in the water to remove any extra air. The heavy base also helps it stay in place when fish might try and move it.

Coarse Sponge

Our coarse sponge allows for extra time between cleaning. It's also able to hold more debris. This is a great place for baby shrimp and fry to forage for food. Baby shrimp even use the sponge as a cave system to hide from fish that may try to eat them while growing. We recommend servicing sponge filters once a month.

Cleaning Is Easy

We recommend cleaning your sponge filter once a month. Removing the debris from the sponge ensures it won't clog up unexpectedly. While our sponge filters can often go many months between service, it's a best practice to service monthly. Also, clean the air collar with a small pipe brush or toothbrush to remove any debris buildup.

Bonus Tip: Pour the brown water on your houseplants to make them very happy.

My wife and I just got our first fish and set him up in a 5.5-gallon aquarium. So far we’re loving this filter!

It has an easy flow that provides for enough surface agitation without too strong of a current. The surface bubbles pop and get water on the plant lighting, so we’re just going to get a cover.

A potential improvement would be to have a “very short” calibration for 5.5-gallon aquariums. To get this to the right water level, I had to cut the tubes with a mini hacksaw and then use teflon tape to seal a leak that occurred from needing to insert the bent tube beyond what’s recommended. It all worked out in the end, but would it would have been nice to bypass any DIY.

Regardless, would highly recommend this filter and will be shopping with Aquarium Coop again!

I've been extremely satisfied with the durable and trustworthy quality of Aquarium Co-Op's product over the years, and this is no exception. Having not ordered a sponge filter from them in a couple years, I'm pleased with the increased flow rate thanks to the Easy Flow system. The exterior airline attachment is a major upgrade, no more anguish trying to cut airline tubing to fit inside. Shoutout to Cory and his team for developing solutions to long-standing issues in the hobby, mainly filter intakes! All around I'm impressed once again by outstanding quality from actual aquarists.

Water is so clear!

Works so well. No longer do I have the slightly cloudy water that couldn't be resolved with Seachem Purigen and Fritz Crystal Clear. Very happy customer.

Shipping Policy

We process and ship out 98%+ of our shipments next business day.

Live plants will ship using an appropriate service and typically arrive in 2 to 5 business days. Transit times do not include weekends, holidays, or weather delays. To avoid delays in the shipping network we recommend ordering live plants on Saturdays and Sundays for a Monday ship out.

Dry goods such as fish food, medication, filtration products, etc. can be ordered any day and will ship the next business day with an appropriate service. Typical shipping times are 1 to 7 business day transit time, depending on delivery location.

Faster shipping options available at checkout for an additional charge.

Alaska and Hawaii have a $17.99 surcharge. We do not ship to Puerto Rico currently.
