  • Extra long power cord
  • Increases water circulation
  • Fits seamlessly with Aquarium Co-Op Sponge Filter

The Aquarium Co-Op Power Head is perfect for adding circulation to your aquarium — beneficial for minimizing dead zones, ensuring particles reach the filter, and moving food and fertilizer to all parts of the tank. No need to rearrange your entire system to find a plug for it, since the included extra long power cord measures 11.8 feet to reach any outlet. It can be used on its own or with the Aquarium Co-Op Sponge Filter to create a more powerful filtration system.

Awesome but I wish it was adjustable

It works great for large tanks, but for anything nano (less than 20gal) it's overkill on the flow. I wish I could adjust the rate in half to make it more suitable for my slow fish. But if you have fish that love fast water, this is perfect. This is great for tossing my marimo moss balls around too. I'll have to take if off because it'll demolish my floating plants, but I'll put in a different tank instead :)

How Quiet? 3 Month Review

After trying out 2 of these power heads for nearly 3 months, I must say they are definitely worth the value and I know I would pay more than $20. The outflow nozzle that can be moved side-to-side and extra-long cord are perks I wouldn't expect to see at this price. I recommend giving it a try. Their customer service is second to none if it doesn't work out.

For anyone concerned about the noise level, in my opinion, it comes down to how sensitive you are to noise. Compared to an air conditioner, refrigerator, air purifier, running water, etc., this is definitely quiet. However, If I am near my aquarium with absolutely no other noise, it surprisingly does not run on magic and has a small motor that I can hear mildly humming away. I've gotten used to it in my 22 gallon long that I work beside. The added flow has been so beneficial to my plants and fish that I can't go back to only air-driven sponge filters.

(For hypersensitive people, I recommend getting a couple of the mini USB air pumps and replacing them when the diaphragm starts to wear out. They are incredibly quiet!)

To summarize, it's been a good purchase. 9/10 because they couldn't make it run on magic. ;)

Great, just wish it were easier to clean

This works great, I just wish it were easier to clean. I have it attached to my large sponge filter, and I don't clean the tank as often as I should (there are many reasons, and I'm working on it). I wish there was a way to detach the power head from the cord so that I could take the part that needs cleaning over to the sink without trying to untangle the cord from the others. One time when I cleaned the power head, I brought over a bowl of water and used a cleaning 'pipe cleaner' (for reusable drinking straws) to clean inside the power head.
Anyway, my fish like the current that this creates, and I am definitely a fan of having it attached to the sponge filter—I feel like it works better than just the sponge filter on its own.

Great powerhead!

I love that it hooks up to the sponge filters to draw water through. My fish and shrimp on my river tank love the movement it makes. Aquarium co-op items are the best!

The perfect pump

I have this pump in my 40 breeder hooked up with a mini sponge filter for added filtration and I really love it!

Moves water well!

This power head keeps the water moving in my aquarium so well. Paired with the easy flow sponge filter, it's perfect.
