No Air Stone Needed

Our air collar replaces the need for an air stone. Uniform bubbles with the airline tubing on the outside delivers better even flow, which increases the flow rate and reduces noise. No more glug, glug, glug sound. Use a small pipe brush or toothbrush to clean the collar during monthly maintenance.

Extra Heavy Base

Our extra heavy weighted base helps the sponge filter sinks right away. Give the sponge a squeeze when you put it in the water to remove any extra air. The heavy base also helps it stay in place when fish might try and move it.

Cleaning Is Easy

We recommend cleaning your sponge filter once a month. Removing the debris from the sponge ensures it won't clog up unexpectedly. While our sponge filters can often go many months between service, it's a best practice to service monthly. Also, clean the air collar with a small pipe brush or toothbrush to remove any debris buildup.

Bonus Tip: Pour the brown water on your houseplants to make them very happy.

So I purchased these for two of my tanks. They look great and being weighed down made them easy to place after rinsing them out and assembling them. They work great and they definitely help with circulation. Highly recommend them.

Excellent for Scrubbing Water in 65G Tank

I was very excited to try out this new fine pore sponge filter attached to a powerhead to see if I could scrub the water in my 65 gallon tank and make it extra crystal clear. GREAT SUCCESS!! Absolutely would recommend this sponge filter for that purpose!

Love This Product In Black!

I have run the green coarse sponges for years and have really enjoyed them. I feel that the black version looks great on tanks with black backgrounds. The included Easy flow kit makes the filters very quiet as well.

Best sponge filter I’ve used

This is the best sponge filter I have used. Changed over all old sponge filters to these. Very pleased with the easy flow uplift! Highly recommended

Functional & Easy to Clean

I really like these sponge filters. I do wish that we could purchase additional sponges without having to buy the entire kit (base & tubing).
These still work when they haven't been cleaned in a while, which is great, and they are very satisfying to clean (also very gross when you think about it).

Black filter is great

I'm super glad black easy flow sponge filters are now available. Same great quality as the greenies but don't stand out so much in the tank. Highly recommend!
