The Aquarium Co-Op Water Polishing Filter Pad is a fine filter floss designed to remove the finest particulate from your water column. It clears tank cloudiness for visibly clearer water. Available as a thick woven pad, it easily cuts down to size for a custom fit inside any filter.
Did you know your filter isn’t optimized to function at its best out-of-the-box? More importantly, did you know you can easily maximize your filter’s efficiency with a few simple hacks?
Tiny particles of uneaten food and waste can pass through coarse filter media, recirculating through and ultimately remaining in your water column. Not only does this detritus visibly cloud your aquarium’s water, it also breaks down into ammonia, a toxic compound that leads to stress, disease, and sudden death in aquatic life.
The Aquarium Co-Op Water Clarifying Filter Pad acts as an extra layer of mechanical filtration when combined with larger-pored filter media. It ensures most waste particles are removed, ensuring a cleaner system and visibly clearer water.
Disposable cartridges are expensive and aren’t able to screen out super fine particles. DIY filter media like polyester fiber fill isn’t designed for aquatic use and may be pre-treated with chemicals. They can also loosen in water, causing fibers to separate and float around your tank.
The Aquarium Co-Op Water Clarifying Filter Pad is the cheapest, most effective way to ensure crystal clear water — without shelling out for pricey equipment.
How To Use:
The pad comes folded in half and can easily be cut down to fit inside any filter.
Use it with Aquarium Co-Op’s Coarse Sponge Pad or any larger-pored filter media to remove both large and small particles from your water.
After cutting down to size, insert the Water Clarifying Filter Pad behind/under coarse filter media, so that water passes through the coarse media first and the Water Clarifying Filter Pad second. The pad’s fine polyester fibers effectively trap micro debris as water passes through your two-stage mechanical filtration.
When To Replace:
Due to the pad’s fine porosity, over time it may clog as it becomes saturated with debris. Water Clarifying Pads are not reusable and should be replaced during regular filter maintenance periods. Fortunately, one pad supplies multiple cut-outs so you don’t need to buy new pads as often.

I bought this to polish my tank water while having guests over. It worked really well, completely cleared my water column of haze and particles. Unfortunately it clogged very quickly and required rinsing every 3-4 days.
I will continue to use these when I want my tank to look its absolute best, but will leave them out for every day use.

I have tried a lot of fine filter pads and I have to say Aquarium Co-op's Fine Filter pad is the best! It does the best overall of keeping the aquarium crystal clear. LOVE IT (sorry the pictures are a little blurry but you can see how clear the water is.) I rinse the pad a few times before I replace it.

I purchased this for use with a Lee's Triple Flow box filter that I use in my quarantine tank. I am happy with this poly pad, it's done a nice job as a mechanical filter and has been a good addition to the bio sponge layer that I also purchased from Aquarium Co-Op. I much prefer it to using Poly-Fil.

This pad works very good at filtering the small particles in your tank when it gets dirty I just rinse it out and it’s good to go again.

Very easy to use. We put it in an Aqueon Quietflow HOB filter. We were getting rid of the standard carbon filters. Easy to cut to size and actually fit perfectly into the filter cartridge holders. Usually get about a month out of them.

I bought this to modify my Top Fin Pro 50, and now it’s paired with Seachem Purigen. It is really easy to use and is pair with the sponge this make me think on probably upgrading the filter but the next size is a 100 gallon I just have a 20 gallon tank probably is a lot!. I hope that with everything I’m doing, my fish will live happy lives for many years to come. I found this company on YouTube, and wow—amazing! All the information and knowledge I’ve been adding to my mental vault is incredible.
