  • Treatment for parasites
  • Effective against planaria
  • Safe for plants and invertebrates

Expel-P from Fritz Aquatics is used as a deworming medication and is intended to treat parasites such as Planaria, Nematodes (like Camallanus Red Worms), Roundworms, Nodular Worms and Hookworms. Symptoms in new and sick fish can include worms visibly protruding from the anus of the fish, wasting, abdominal bloating, disinterest in food, or rapid breathing or gasping. The active ingredient used in Expel P is Levamisole HCl. Expel-P will not harm biological filtration, plants, invertebrates or fish which are not infected.

We recommend using an air stone when treating with this medication.

Expel-P does not treat Cestodes (tapeworms) or Trematodes (flukes). For these parasites, try Fritz ParaCleanse.

After months of using a different treatment I had no luck getting rid of camallanus worms in my 2 candy koi bettas. Finally someone on Reddit recommended using expel-p and it worked within a few hours of treatment!!! This stuff is amazing and saved me so much heartache!!!

Expel-p

The pict is the beta that was with the problem and it did survive with no issues at all. I got the expel-p and it work just as they said it will. At the beginning i wasn’t believing that is was gonna work. But I fallow the instructions and it work. I totally recommend this product it work. You have to fallow the instructions it is light sensitive so cover your thank to insure the efficiency of the product.

Expel-p

It worked, I used it on 20 comet goldfish(feeders) and now I have way too many...! They all survived...! I've bought 20 in the past for another pond here in Sarasota Florida as duckweed control, without medicating them, only 5 lived and are now huge...! I'm a fan of the 'new' med trio because it works...! Thanks

Didn't harm fish but not effective for my problem

Purchased Expel-P (levamisole) to try to eradicate hitch-hiker Asian Freshwater Leeches from my planted tank. Multiple weekly treatments following package directions, leeches still present. Aquarium Co-op staff member who recommended this said Expel-P had worked for them against these worms, but it didn't for me. Fortunately, no apparent effect on my fish (Pygmy and False Julii Corys and Ember Tetras) or snails.

Magical and works lightening fast

I ended up getting a leech infestation in my tank from feeding my pea-puffers live black worms. I reached out to Aquarium Co-op for a recommendation of what would kill them off (I had previously tried planaria zero and aquarium salt). They recommended Fritz Expel-P. Within 20 minutes of this product being in the tank I see the first dying leech. Hallelujah! Thanks so much aquarium co-op, y'all are amazing! Excuse the state of my tank, I removed all my fish and shrimp and to treat it so they wouldn't get hurt or end up dying from everything I've tried.

Effective against Camallanus Worms

Bought to treat camallanus worms and it was effective within 24 hours. It’s the only medication I’ve found to treat the worms when you’re fist won’t eat anymore!

Fritz Expel

Expel contains one of the better anti-parasitic meds on the market. As a retired physician I have written for this type of medicine hundreds if not thousands of times. The aquatic version seems to work just as well as the version used for humans. Always follow the instructions on the package and DO NOT USE on humans. This med is specifically formulated for fish, not people!

a line of defense

What you can’t see can hurt you! Expel-p will forever be a part of my quarantine process after the med trio. FYI - Don’t worry if it makes the water cloudy. Trust in the process and follow the directions. Keep a box in your medicine stash! 🏥

It works!

Used to treat sunken belly in my African Cichlid Tank. It works but I'll caution that it will crash your cycle although it is advertised that it would not. Best to treat in a hospital tank. Otherwise it does the job no doubt. Thanks aquarium co-op!

Major Kill-Off

I used this product as described - 7 packets for my 70 gallon tank, disabled chemical filtration, introduced an airstone, left my wave maker on for surface agitation, and turned off the light.

I came back the next morning to cloudy water and my 3 Amazon Puffers, 1 Chinese Algae Eater, 1 Ruby Barb (the only fish visually effected with red worms), and half a dozen Ammano Shrimp were dead.

After removing the lost souls, I immediately restored all filtration and light and did a 50% water change. My Cardinal Tetras and three remaining Ruby Tetras look to be unharmed, but time will tell.

I would not urge caution to anyone considering this product. Clearly it works well for most, but in my experience, I would not do this again.

I will continue to support Aquarium Co-Op as they have been nothing but helpful, kind, and reasonable from my other interactions and purchases.

Great product to have on hand.

When fish keeping this is one thing you should have ready and on hand incase your fish gets sick.

Medications

I have been purchasing the Fritz medications because they work much better than API. I tried 2 API products because I didn’t have any of my Fritz medication with no results for my fish. So I repurchased the Fritz medications because and within 2 days I I could see a bid difference in my fish. That tells me that I must keep Fritz medications on hand if they get sick again.

Works but I have a question.

When I used this on my 40 gallon tank it obviously made my tank cloudy but I noticed all my plants have crazy biofilm like all over the leaves. is that normal?

Expel P and Aqaurium Co-op are both excellent!

Excellent product for roundworms! The only thing better than a quality product like Expel P is the good people and advice offered by Aquarium Co-Op.
Thank you all so much for your guidance helping care for our beloved oscar!

Purchased Fritz Expel-P after reading review by Aquarium Co-Op. Used as per directions and after three treatments fish were cleared of camallanus worms.

Does the job well. The camalanus worms are gone.

I bought this because my Bolivian ram had camalanus worms. I’m on the second corse of treatment now and I could tell that the first round did cause the worms to die and be excreted.
