- Treatment for parasites
- Effective against planaria
- Safe for plants and invertebrates
Expel-P from Fritz Aquatics is used as a deworming medication and is intended to treat parasites such as Planaria, Nematodes (like Camallanus Red Worms), Roundworms, Nodular Worms and Hookworms. Symptoms in new and sick fish can include worms visibly protruding from the anus of the fish, wasting, abdominal bloating, disinterest in food, or rapid breathing or gasping. The active ingredient used in Expel P is Levamisole HCl. Expel-P will not harm biological filtration, plants, invertebrates or fish which are not infected.
We recommend using an air stone when treating with this medication.
Expel-P does not treat Cestodes (tapeworms) or Trematodes (flukes). For these parasites, try Fritz ParaCleanse.
The worms I used it on were not Planaria, and it didn't effect my target pests. I"m still searching for a treatment for Rhabdocoela and other unsightly flat worms.
Researching how to get rid of a camallanus infestation can be confusing at best. Conflicting information is all over the internet. After reading the reviews of this product and considering Aquarium Co-Op to be a reputable source of information, we gave it a try. We treated the entire tank as directed twice, one week apart, and since have seen no sign of camallanus. Our fish are gaining weight again and returning to health. Great product, and as always, Aquarium Co-Op came through with quick shipping.
I lost three guppies and a fourth was on the way. A fish store told me my water was too hard which didn’t make sense as my guppies had been fine until I added their two imported pairs. Fortunately I found this site and Cory’s video with the recommended trio and it saved my “pandemic aquarium outbreak”. The very sick fourth female is back to her old self. Thank you for all your products and information. I only wished I’d found you sooner to have saved my favorite three
Excellent customer service and great product
