Fidler Crabs and fish babies LOVE this food!
First Bites around here are ALWAYS consumed eagerly
so I think they're delivering a desired nutrition for my swimmy friends..
and this nano food is the perfect size for them really.
I've tried making a mix of grinded up foods...forget about it.
You just make a dusty mess in the tank and it doesnt work.
Go ahead. Use a Loupe to see your grinded up stuff and then look
at First Bites. You'll see that yours is like shoveling in shelf dust and First Bites
are specks of concentrated nutrition ready to be eaten by the smallest of mouths.

All my filter eaters and baby fish are fed FirstBites inbetween with brine
and daphnia..They go after it just like the live food..I'd say make sure you have some around just like any other foods you'd have...Small to mid size fish like First Bites as well..I had an older sick danio fish in a small aquarium and it recovered just eating nano foods and First Bites..
It was easier and lighter for him eat, and i could keep the water parameters ten times easier.
I actually think my Fidlers living longer than the 3 years they say they do might have alot to do with First Bites.

Smaller than i thought in container size and granules ...last a long time tho since its so fine and for fry mostly recently bought a 2nd and still not n open 2.months later

I've been buying these for the last few years because the fry love them! Not a real complaint, but it can be difficult to get the portion I want from the bag. I've resorted to a standard kitchen teaspoon. The fry aren't fussy as to how they are served...lol

Aquarium sells this product for cheap than anywhere around me. It’s great for raising fry.

I feed First Bites as part of my grow out regimen for all my fry—guppies, mollies, platys and even betta babies. My fish grow well and have beautiful coloration. It is just the right size and apparently tastes great! Hikari is a respected brand in fish foods and I recommend First Bites for getting fish off to a healthy start.

This is probably not the intended purpose of this food, but I use it to feed my bamboo shrimp. I sprinkle some over a power-head a few times per day and it distributes it into the water column. The nano fish in that tank like it as well. The package is very small but lasts me a very long time.

When your fry are too small for Brine shrimp try these Hikari first bites. It’s a great little food.

I got this thinking I could get it to sink down to my Pygmy corydoras but it’s finer than I thought and I never saw it reach the bottom due to getting eaten by other fish, lost in plants or just dissipating. For me it’s worked great for feeding my shrimp, especially the shrimplets. They hang onto the roots of floating plants and catch it as it sinks and some will make their way up to the surface to get to floating. So I’ve been using it to offer my shrimp more variety. I like it and my skrimps lerv lerv lervitalot. 💕🦐

I bought this several times at our home store here before I ordered it from you. I also raise mystery snails and use them while they are very small. Love the food

Every fish I have loves this stuff, not just the fry

I was very impressed with this food and I've tried many. On first looks the fish food is very fine powder food designed for small fry, nano fish, filter or water column feeders, baby and dwarf shrimp, etc. I like the texture and earthy smell immediately. This food can rest on the water surface which helps with very small and slow moving fish and shell fish. If you would rather mix the powder into the water column just give it a gentle swirl. This high protein fry starter will help the fry grow a little quicker and have a higher success rate when breeding and raising fry. I'm glad I tried this product and would strongly recommend to others in the fish hobbies.

I placed an about week before Christmas. I expected to get it after the holidays. It arrived 3 days after I placed the order. Will order more.

I feed this to my rainbow fry works great

I had 7 surprise guppy fry, as well as 3 ember tetras together in a 7 gallon planted. I mix a small amount of Hikari first bites in a few drops of aquarium water, and deliver it to them using a tiny sized soft plastic feeding syringe, and they go crazy for it. I feed them at various times throughout the day, and they get so excited at feeding time, one of them jumped out of the aquarium! Great food for any small fish….except Scarlet Badis’s, who don’t really go for anything that isn’t alive and moving. My fish love the stuff!

I always use this product for rainbow fry.

Hikari First Bites

My medaka (Japanese rice fish) fry are healthy and growing! This food seems more appealing to them than the Sera Micron fry food I also use. I like that it floats around enticingly when distributed in the water column.

My ricefish, celestial Pearl danio, and white cloud minnows fry just gobble this up!

This is a great fry food. I breed native fish and they eat it almost immediately after becoming free swimming. It lasts a long time for being a small package as well.

I bought Hikari First Bites as well as the aquarium coop fry food. The advantage of first bites is its all small grains that fry can eat. The advantage of coop fry food is it is cheaper. The disadvantage of coop fry food is their are some larger grains that sink in the tank because some newborn fry can't eat the larger grain size. Now that my fry are larger my next order will be the coop brand.

I wouldn't say it's better than crushing up your own choice of quality flake food and feeding it, but the fry love this. Use a pipette for a less messy way of delivering the food to your fish.

Ate it their first day

I have used this with Bolivian ram fry and Emerald green cory fry. Worked great and left a small supply of food between brine shrimp feedings. Did not add pollution to the tank as I did multiple small water changes at every feeding. Was using a very small container for newly hatched fry. Won't replace BBS for quick growth but a great supplement.
