- Hardy Leaves
- Easy to Grow
- Low Light
Java Fern is hands down one of the most popular plants in the aquarium hobby. It is a slow grower and will thrive even in low light aquariums. A great addition to an aquascape, usually placed in the middle or background. Its thick, long leaves provide excellent cover for fish and fry.
Java fern will grow across your aquarium via its rhizome while sending leaves vertically upwards toward the light source. It will produce baby plants on the undersides of its leaves which can be removed and replanted if desired.
My 2nd successful order from Aquarium Co-Op…
Still not comfortable to purchase aquarium plants from local fish stores, soooo…I ordered 2 Java Fern plants from Aquarium Co-Op on May 24 & received them on the 27th! (Washington State to Middle Florida) Plants were in great shape upon arrival, and when I took off the cotton batting, protecting the roots, I had FOUR very nice 5 inch plants! I did what Cory’s video said, on using super glue gel with rocks, and the transplanting turned out great! The fish love their new hide-away corners.
Looking forward to seeing these Java Ferns grow up!
Thanks Aquarium Co-Op!

Arrived in great shape, and the 2 plants I ordered were easily split into 4. I followed the advice to use super glue gel to attach them to decor, and it worked great.
Java ferns arrived in great shape and are quite large. I was very happy with my purchase!
I ordered 4 of these. Quick shipping & the plants look great.
