Banana plants have been a staple of the aquarium hobby for many years because of their ease of care and visual impact. The banana plant gets its name because its tubers (where nutrients are stored) are shaped like a bunch of bananas. Once established, banana plants grow both wavy, green leaves in the water and tall lily pads at the surface. When this happens, check to make sure your other plants aren't being shaded out by the lily pads and trim if necessary.

Tumors arrived in great shape, but there were only a few scrawny leaves. After about 2 weeks in the tank, have noticed some new leaves growing. Very happy with this like all Aquarium Coop plants.
I’ve ordered a handful of plants from here and all have came through with the banana plant being amazing! I let it sit them sit on bottom and they rooted strongly within a few weeks. I found that out by pulling on it a few inches up and the roots didn’t want to give and now it hovers and looks amazing! One of my favorites!

My plant arrived in great condition, even after multiple days of shipping. I’ve planted it in my tank and it’s already sprouting leaves only a few days later. The banana tubers definitely make it an interesting plant to have, looking forward to seeing it flourish.
Ordered this with high hopes and within a month, it was obviously dead. All the parameters for growth checked out, plant just couldn't, didn't thrive.

It came with only 1 tiny leaf, but looked very healthy. It grew new leaves quickly as well as roots shooting down. And is thriving. Some leaves are red which seem normal for this plant. They don't reach to the top of the tank, but that's ok. The leaves will grow much larger than you think so plant it more towards the back and give it plenty of room. My lighting is whatever comes in the Petsmart tank kits, no fertilizer, no CO2. (Picture is about 3 months after I got it)
Arrived with one leaf and the base brownish/yellow with nearly no roots, but I know sometime soon it'll bloom up. Happy with my purchase so far.
I have never received anything so well packaged before. Wow! However the condition of the plants was not optimal. On the first one I carefully unpacked, all but one leaf had turned to a brown mush and the last leaf disintegrated shortly after adding to my aquarium where all other plants are flourishing. The second one was obviously stressed but seems to be gradually recovering. Time will tell if they will fully recover.
