Cryptocoryne crispatula var. balansae is from the limestone mountains of Southern Thailand, where the water can be very hard. It is not very demanding, but appreciates a nutritious substrate and good light. The leaves, which can be either entirely green or a maroon color, grow from 7" to 23" long, and the single rosette plant can grow about 6" wide.

Perfect for the Easy Planter

I received a lush healthy culture that could have easily been split into around 8 plants or 2 full clusters. It's an interesting plant that adds variety and an interesting texture to my crypt garden tank.

Cryptocoryne Crispatula

The crispatula came in healthy and has not had any melt so far after 1-2 weeks. Very happy with this product.

It melts...but

Planted them, and they decided to do the melt, but rallied within a few days, already have long leaves appearing. Yay

First tissue culture

I planted it in the sustrait and it's not really growing, at some point I may glue it to a rock.

Packed with healthy plants

Tropica's tissue culture plants are some of the very best available in the hobby, far better than most of their competition in terms of plant health, quality and quantity in the cup.

Plants showed up healthy and happy

I received these plants in good condition. They have been planted for a week or so with no melting so far. They are standing up towards the light of my tank. It's a beautiful plant with nice leaf shape with a crinkly edge and nice colors.

Cool plant

My order sat a little longer in shipping due to a storm. Aquarium Co op did such a great job packing my plants that they still arrived in perfect condition even with the storm delay.

Great Looking Plant!

The plant arrived a few days late, so it did melt back a bit after arrival. It's looking pretty good now though! The texture/waviness on the leaves is really something. I'm looking forward to seeing what it's like once it grows in. :)

Cold hardy. One of the very few cryptocorynes that grow well in an unheated tank. Down to 40F! Excellent starter. I separated four plant plantlets and each have grown well.
