The Fluval Canister Intake Adapter fits the Fluval 06 and 07 series canister filters (also fits the 06 series filters). While we recommend using the large on all of the canisters, the medium can be used on the 107 and 207 series. While the medium will fit the 307 and 407, we recommend the large to accommodate larger fish waste loads. This intake combined with our pre filter sponges adds filtering capacity with both biological and mechanical filtration. While also providing protection for long-finned fish, baby fish, and shrimp. Our intake doesn't use the  checkball which causes a clogging point in the original fluval intakes.

Junk. Cracked immediately. Make sure you save your original intake so you aren't left finding a new one.

Intake adapter.

Ordered these intake adapters back in September and it’s now December 26th. Both of the intake adapters I’ve ordered have already broken at the connection point to the intake tube on my fluvals and I had trouble with them clogging all the time since it was made with a 90 degree turn. Unfortunately unlike most of the other products here, this one I can’t recommend, your better off running a spong with no adapter.

Perfect Fit

I bought this to replace the cracked intake on my Fluval 307 and to add a pre-filter to protect my shrimp and fish. The fit is perfectly snug. The built-in offset allowed me to fit a large pre-filter sponge and use the Fluval suction cup to attach the intake tube to the wall while still having enough space around the sponge for water to move. Great addition to my Fluval filter!

Snapped right on the inlet tube and was used with aquarium co-op pre filter sponge. Great combo!

Excellent upgrade kit for fluval filters. The flow you get out of these vs just alipping a sponge over the factory intake is a night and day difference.

Update: I took the presponge filter off to clean it and when I went to put it back on this broke. The plastic is very thin yoj can feel when trying to put the sponge filter on and off…It is also a little too long for my 55 gallon and my fancy gf got stuck under it once, luckily I was home and watching the tank so I could rescue him.

I am going to shorten the output tube even more to prevent that from happening again..

I did shorten the tube and it was better after that until it broke.

Love Design and Functionality, but it's fragile

Just a biproduct of a 3D print I suppose, but this worked well for me until I went to clean it and the pipe that sticks into the top of this, wasn't careful enough and it broke the "collar" at the top where you hook the intake pipe to. I had to use HVAC tape to keep it together, but it was broken within the first time of cleaning it.

Fluval suction screen

This is a well-made product, extends the reach of the suction strainer about 3 1/2 times the manufacturers. This company also sells a sponge to cover the new strainer. Or you can just buy a sponge at your local fish store.

If you have fry and baby shrimp this is the best one to buy. And ive looked everywhere. This is the best attachment for the Fluval canister filters.

FX Series (FX2, FX4, FX6)
FX2 adapter and filter

Have just added adapter and large filter to my FX2 filter to avoid fry from entering the filter. The process was very easy as items fit perfectly. This item appears to accomplish what was needed. It appears the intake filter will need cleaning every week or two In my 75 gal planted tank; however, I just added 3 days ago so the cleaning frequency is just a guess.

Fluval 307 intake adapter.

This product was well made and fit perfect. I have used it in my 55 gal fry tank to avoid fry being sucked up the intake. Has worked perfectly.

Large for 207, and Fx4 for Fx4. I could not get either adaptor to connect with the corrugated tubing as the fit was just too tight, so I had to take a hacksaw to the pipe portion to keep the adaptor out of the substrate. Other than that, great product! Also bought the large coarse pre-filter sponges as recommended.

D
Drexellake (Harker Heights, TX, US)

This works great for the FX2. I had a double 3D intake, but it's a bit large for my 55. I'll use it when I get a 125 gallon. Can't wait for the 3D light mounts.

Intake adapter

So far so good...direr fit for the intake hose just as described. I'm using the one that pairs with the coop medium sponge pre filter. Brings the sponge away from the tank Wall just enough to get good pull all the way around the sponge.

Snap on and go!

I recently purchased the Fluval Cannister Intake Adapter. It was easy to install and works great with a pre-filter sponge attached to keep the sand substrate out of the filter. I’ve also noticed improved flow from the canister filter.

Excellent product

The original manufacturers intake has a ball valve which easily becomes clogged and significantly restricts flow. After installing the Co-op intake filtration flow increased significantly. Extremely pleased with the product.

Just the perfect accessory

This is the perfect accessory for my fluval 307 canister, it works with the intake sponge, to make this 10 times better than the original part. and it eliminates the ball on the original intake, that was always choking the flow. Just what I needed!!!

B
Ben (Clearfield, UT, US)

Just a heads up - if you're like me and threw away the little slidy part that goes into the little tube at the end of the intake hose for the FX6 because you'd "never" use it again, you do need that slidy part for this adapter to work. It's part number A20225, I bought one from another retailer for $17.69 + shipping.

Once I got the part though, it fit like a glove! Highly recommend this, this is wayyyyyy better than using a zip tie to strap it onto the intake.

M
Michael B. (Dover, DE, US)

Great product! This fixed my problem of always having to unplug my FX6 before feeding with being able to put a prefilter sponge on the intake tube. Easy installation, it's genius!
