Coarse sponge pad is a replacement for throwaway cartridges in aquarium filters. Not only are the cartridges costly, they are also bad for the environment. Coarse sponge pads can be reused for many years with normal use. With this porosity of the foam, they are nearly clog-proof. They also filter out larger particles of waste before getting to your fine filter pads or bio rings.

Good sponge love it
On account of upgrading a hang back filter, this course sponge is the ideal fit. The water does indeed flow through better than the stock filter that was used with the earlier hang back filter. Thanks to a Corey video demonstrating this course sponge, changes were made.
These coarse sponge pads are a much better alternative than replaceable cartridges for HOB filters. Just lightly rinse the dirt from the sponge once a month. I have some used for over 3 years. Time to replace them.
I used this to replace the cartridge on my new 5 gallon quarantine tank. I also cut a piece to use to keep my shrimp from getting sucked into my water change gravel vac. I still have some left, but I decided I wanted a spare. I will use this to replace my aquaclear sponge whenever it wears out too. I like that it seems coarse enough to make it hard to clog.
The sponge pads are excellent they filter well and would recommend to anyone who has a aquarium 🥰

Live plants will ship using an appropriate service and typically arrive in 2 to 5 business days. Transit times do not include weekends, holidays, or weather delays. To avoid delays in the shipping network we recommend ordering live plants on Saturdays and Sundays for a Monday ship out.
Dry goods such as fish food, medication, filtration products, etc. can be ordered any day and will ship the next business day with an appropriate service. Typical shipping times are 1 to 7 business day transit time, depending on delivery location.

Alaska and Hawaii have a $17.99 surcharge. We do not ship to Puerto Rico currently.
