  • Soft, bushy stem plant
  • Light green, thin leaves
  • Easy care with medium light
  • Not available to be shipped to Hawaii and Alaska.

Mayca fluviatilis is a soft, bushy stem plant with thin leaves that are a light green in color, and its fine texture contrasts nicely against larger-leaved plants. Because of its unique, moss-like appearance, it is commonly referred to as the "stream bogmoss."  This easy-to-grow plant does well in medium lighting or higher. Once established, it will grow quickly and provide a lush hiding spot for fish and shrimp.

Unique Fuzzy Texture

This unusual stem plant has such an interesting, fuzzy texture that stands out from the other plants. When given plenty of light and Easy Green fertilizer, it can grow into a forest of yellow-green, feathery fronds. Just cut off the tops as they get taller and replant them into the ground for easy propagation.

Pleasantly Surprised

I never heard of this plant. When I received them, I was surprised on how good of a plant they are. This is perfect for fish to hide in and looks great in the tank.

Fast growing in a low tech tank. I’m using this as a background plant in a 36gal bow front with a Fluval Plant 24” light and Seachem Tidal 55 filter. The light runs 70% at six hours a day. Fertilizing with Easy Root Tabs once every month or two. It grows very fast and I’m trimming about six inches every 2-3 weeks. Replant the trimmings to propagate.

The Mayac is Thriving

The Mayaca is thriving. It arrived as a dense bunch of stems in rockwool. It’s very delicate and thin compared to most stem plants. It grows quickly. After it reached the desired height, I started trimming about three to four inches off of it weekly.

I have yet to be disappointed

I just recently graduated from a 20g to a 75g tank and, needless to say, I needed more plants. I purchased 3 of these little suckers and have been very pleased with them so far. They arrived very secure, green and strong. They are small, I will tell you that, but they are worth it since they grow to a decent height. I divided mine into 6 groups and used them to line the back of the aquarium. They are adjusting to the water wonderfully and don’t have any “transplant shock”. Oh, did I say that they had NO HITCHHIKERS?!?! NONE. I had them quarantined for over a week and there were no snails, detritus, limpets, nothing. Aquarium Co-Op has a great reputation and for good reason. They know what they’re doing and they actually care about their products. The photo hasn't been edited in any way and this is about a week after transplant.

Awesome little plant!

Don’t be fooled from the “little” plant in the title. This stem plant has exploded in my tank. It’s now my favorite plant in this particular aquarium. They started off as single stems that I planted a couple inches apart and now they are bushes! Some are getting really tall. I love the way they sway with the current from the filter. Ordering another for my other tank!

Great quality of plant

I was pleased when I received my Mayaca. It was packed carefully and received in great shape. So far the plant is thriving in my aquarium with no worries. I separated it out and not one start as died. Thank you for your product and I will order more in the future.

Excellent condition

This plant arrived in a timely manner, and with very few minor dead spots. Was pleasantly surprised with the amount included in the pot. It rooted quickly but seems to be growing slower than anticipated. Beautiful plant overall, provides nice shelter for fry and small invertebrates....apologies for the mystery snail photo bomb, my aquariums inhabitants all seem to come front and center whenever I try to get pics.

Healthy, fast-growing, zero melt

I purchased some mayaca, a red flame sword, and other plants to deck out a new nano tank. Everything arrived in excellent condition. Three weeks in, I've had zero melt and plenty of new growth and rooting. The tank looks lush. Highly recommended!

Great plant

Came in smaller than the picture online, but in excellent health and color and has been growing fast. The first picture was the day I got it and the second is one month later.
I’ve been using root tabs, easy green and easy iron.

High quality

Definitely packaged with pride. By far the best package I've ever received containing live plants. There was no broken , rotted stems or leaves. This purchase was actually better than expected. I'm used to getting 4 to 5 cut stems that usually come in mushy. This came in completely health and in its own pot. Will attack a photo of it in the grow out tank. Well done aquarium co-op
