Cryptocoryne wendtii 'Green' is a variant of crypt wendtii and has the same care requirements. It does not require high light and will grow to about 6-8 inches in height, making it an ideal midground plant in aquascaping. Unlike regular crypt wendtii, crypt wendtii 'Green' will produce deep green, ruffled leaves, which makes this plant stand out in any tank.

***Being a natural product, sizes can vary from what is shown.***

How to Plant Cryptocoryne Wendtii Green

    1. Remove the potted plant from plastic basket, and split the rock wool in half.
    2. Carefully remove the plant roots from the rock wool, and make sure to remove all the small, yellow fertilizer balls. Wash off any remaining debris.
    3. Use planting tweezers or your fingers to push the roots of the crypt deeply into the substrate until they are completely buried. Pull out the plant slightly so that the crown (i.e., the base of the plant where all the leaves come out) is not covered with substrate.
    4. If the plant keeps popping out of the ground, try inserting the plant at an angle or wrap a plant weight at the bottom of the plant to keep it anchored.
    5. Make sure to add lots of root tabs if you’re using inert substrate or if your nutrient-rich substrate is depleted.

How to Grow Cryptocoryne Wendtii Green

Cryptocoryne wendtii care is very easy, so start by using low lighting between 10-20 PAR.
    — Why is my new cryptocoryne melting? Crypt plants are known to experience "crypt melt" where the leaves may melt when suddenly moved to a new environment. To help the plant recover faster and grow new leaves that are accustomed to your water parameters, leave the roots planted in the ground and make sure to provide nutrient-rich planted tank substrate or Easy Root Tabs
    — Why is my Cryptocoryne wendtii turning yellow after it was growing so well? Crypt plants absorb lots of nutrients from the ground, so it may be a nutrient deficiency. If the leaves are yellowing and dying after a couple of months, please add more root tabs.
    — How to trim Cryptocoryne wendtii: If the crypt plant has dying or melting leaves, cut them off at the base of the leaf.

How to Propagate Cryptocoryne Wendtii Green

Crypt plants can reproduce in aquariums by sending out a horizontal runner with a little plantlet at the end or growing little nodes off the side of the original plant. The plantlet will sprout its own leaves and roots that grow into the ground. You can cut off the runner or gently split off the plantlet node from the parent plant. Then the plantlet can be replanted in a different location.

    Crypt Melt

Crypts (and many other live aquatic plants) are very sensitive to major changes in their water, so they often respond by absorbing/melting their existing leaves as they adjust to the different conditions. The energy they gain and conserve from “consuming” the old leaves allows the crypts to create new roots and leaves that can once again gather nutrients and light in their new environment.

    Easy Planter

This natural, rock-like decoration is perfect for the lazy fishkeeper. Just add a root tab to the rockwool in the pot, drop the entire potted cryptocoryne plant into the center hole of the Easy Planter, and place it in your aquarium. Works great with bare bottom tanks or fish that like to dig.

    Crypts

I ordered last month and received a few days later. I waited to review to have the time to see it would survive. The first time I tried to grow plants was a disaster. I tried planting in gravel and used no fertilizer. This time I planted in Fluval Stratum. Plus I feel buying from Aquarium Co op gave the plants a head start. I have already had to trim the stem plants from this order. I feel because I also ordered 10 plants they consumed enough nutrients that I have had little issue with algae. I have not had an issue with "melting"

    Cryptocoryne Wendtii Green

Crypts arrived well packaged and insulated with warming pack. Shipped out quick. Was worried at first once it arrived because some looked wilted/yellow and small but once left in water they sprung back in a few days. Did notice what seemed like some small floating duckweed hitchhikers but netted those out asap. Would order again.

    I love these

I've tried several carpeting plants to no avail. Although these are not carpeting plants they grow pretty wide and low to the substrate. My fish love hiding in them. The two larger crypts I've had since November.

Just love the look and health of these plants!

These plants arrived in PERFECT condition! I had a plastic plant in my new aquarium and when my new plants were delivered in the dead of winter I was pleasantly surprised! They look so good! I bought more!

    Solid Bushy Beginner Plant

I love this plant. I am a beginner but went hard on real plants and this one is one of my favorites. It came from ACO bushy, fluffy and green. Its a slow grower that loves root tabs since I use gravel. Easy to take care of and did little to no wilting when I put it under water. If you want a bushy plant that goes with the flow as long as you feed it once a month root tab and weekly squirts of easy green. This is your plant

    Healthy and Full

Cypts are some of my favorite plants, these are no exception. I setup a tank for my mom this Christmas with several coop plants. They all came in healthy and full even in the freezing cold. Very happy with the purchase and how quickly they arrived despite being very far away from the new Kentucky warehouse. Thanks Coop!

    My favorite plant

This is my favorite plant ever. So easy to care for and absolutely thriving. Leave it alone, no matter what after prep and planting. I was for sure these were going to die and a few months later Ive seen a massive bounce back and new growth. Get these. Get lots of these and make a small midground jungle. Ny picture is showing about 3 months of growth.

    Never Disappointed!

Ordered 2) Java Fern and 3) Cryptocoryne Wendtii Green in October. All were received very healthy and larger than expected. Been in the tank a little over a month (December) and all is well. No melt from the crypts at all. Never disappointed with the co-op!!

    Amazing

Bought 2 of these crypto’s about 6 weeks apart.
The first one did so good- we thought- why not get another! Should have gone with live plants long ago. Very easy to grow. Our lighting is great. And the AQUARIUMCOOP is very helpful!
