  • Green and red leaves with an oblong shape
  • Tall background or floating stem plant
  • Great for medium to high light planted tanks
  • Not available to be shipped to Hawaii and Alaska.

Ludwigia Red is a lovely stem plant that can grow both green and red oblong-shaped leaves. In high lighting, the leaves at the top of the plant start growing pinkish-red to deep red, creating a unique ombre effect. Give it plenty of light and liquid fertilizer for faster growth and vibrant coloration.

Easy Red Plant

This beautiful stem plant turns deep scarlet the closer it grows to bright lighting, causing a lovely red-to-green ombre effect. Use medium to high light and Easy Green liquid fertilizer to bring out the best colors.

Plant Transition

Most aquatic plants are grown out of water at the farms. At our warehouse, we start the plant's transition so they can begin growing underwater leaves for you. As you can see, the small, round leaves are grown out of water while the longer, slender leaves are grown under water. This is a normal process, and it's your choice cut off the fading, older leaves or leave them.

We Include Heat Packs and Liners Free of Charge

We have a custom-developed algorithm to include heat packs and insulating plant liners as needed, based on the weather forecast from our warehouse to your shipping address. This helps keep plants at stable temperatures, both in hot and cold weather. Other vendors typically charge you at checkout for a heat pack. We include them when needed free of charge because it's our job to deliver our plants to your door healthy.

Healthy and pretty!

It’s so cute that the pink ombré is already happening after a few weeks. Now this is one of my favorite plants!

Ludwigia repens

Arrived alive! Had dropped some leaves probably due to length in time of transport which was about four days after I ordered. I live in Washington and it came from Texas? It is planted in gravel and seems to be doing fine. Leaves are still on it that were there when I first put it in. No melting back👍🏻

Poor Condition and Not Rebounding

Ordered these plants about a week ago and I wish I better things to write about.

I ordered six pots of Ludwigia Repens Red and they arrived in very poor condition. Only two of the pots were not melted completely back out of the bag. I was hoping that I could get these plants to rebound so I planted them into my tank anyway. I have a tank with a deep sand bed with a mixture of gravel and organic potting soil underneath. I used Aquarium Coop's root tabs and liquid fertilizer right away. After a week and few extra days these plants are just not rebounding back. I have about only one and half stems that are healthy and the rest are melted down and dead.

Disappointing to order six pots and only get a few stems to even remotely survive. I won't be giving this plant another shot.

All melted away

I bought Ludwigia, chain grass, and some val. Everything but the ludwigia looked great. Ludwigia came missing all its leaves and completely melted away within a week.

So far so good?

Im completely happy with the order I placed and all of the live plants I purchased. They arrived well packaged and healthy. And most are doing fine. Im not being much growth yet and actually the jungle val. Is dying back a bit. I don't think that is any fault of Aquarium Co-op. I am waiting to see if it bounces back or not. The Ludwigia has not grown its underwater leaves yet but a few have shed and the undersides of the upper most leaves have reddened significantly

Plants didn’t work for me, BUT

Unfortunately, these plants just didn’t work out for me, they couldn’t survive being shipped down south, BUT- the customer service was TOP TEIR! Immediately upon my initial concern about my plants I was sent a replacement, and when that one didn’t work out either I was offered a refund or store credit.
I would absolutely buy from aquarium co-op again, just maybe not plants for me.

Died twice

I’ve purchased this plant twice, and both times it has died despite following all instructions and correct care. None of the other plants I purchased along with it died, they all did great. Pretty frustrating

Not what I expected;

The plants just couldn’t survive shipping. Could be the weird Southern US weather. GREAT customer service, however. Don’t feel discouraged from buying— Customer service immediately offered a replacement, refund, or store credit, so I really can’t complain much.

Instant satisfaction!

This plant has, so far, adjusted perfectly in my tank. The plant I was sent was already pretty tall, maybe like 5-6 inches, so that was instantly satisfying to plant. My fish (assorted platies) do love it because they’re always weaving in the leaves. I planted it around a sunken broken pottery tunnel decoration and it is now my favorite corner of my tank! Looking forward to seeing how tall it will get and hope it continues to thrive as the weeks go by! I might even get more of this to plant in other areas because my fish seem to like the smaller leaves on this more than the various swords I have elsewhere.

Updating my review to include a picture I just took - when I first planted these, all of the stalks were shorter than the sunken pot behind it. More than half have grown another 4-5 inches in the last 2.5-3 weeks!

Amazing floating plant!!!!

I love floating this! It grows pretty fast for me. I've already been able to locally sell some of my starts I've grown from it!

WOW!!!!

First order from Aquarium Co-op and I am so very happy!
My plants arrived in 48hrs! Packaging was phenomenal and the plants were in amazing condition! I think it's very nice of them to include the extra packaging and heat pk, you don't have to pay for it.
I for sure got my moneys worth and will be back for more!
Thank you so much!

Check weather before ordering

I didn't check my areas weather and my poor little plant died in the triple digit heat wave. It was well packed. Shipping services delayed delivery by 3 days so that didn't help. I will reorder again with some root tabs.

Slightly disheartened....

I've been a local customer for awhile... The plant arrived in terrible condition and completely melted and died. Had I known the plant wouldn't be shipped from Seattle/WA, I wouldn't have ordered it online (I take responsibility for not researching this). I have pics of the plant just after delivery. It could've been weather related as the plant bag in the box very warm to the touch. I will continue to be a customer, I just won't purchase plants online. I'll make an in store purchase for new plants.
