Anubias Coffeefolia is a variant of Anubias barteri that is known for its wavy, oblong-shaped leaves that have very deep ridges along the leaf veins. Its coloration initially appears as a brownish-bronze (coffee) and eventually turn a deep green. Anubias barteri coffeefolia thrives under low light and is fairly slow-growing. It does well in goldfish, African cichlid, and community tanks because of its thick, tough leaves. Please note that depending on availability from our supplier, your anubias may come as a potted plant, or bare root.

How to Plant Anubias Coffeefolia
1. Remove from plastic bag and carefully remove the plant from the damp liner.
2. The anubias can be planted as one single plant or gently separated into smaller plant clumps by cutting the rhizome.
3. Insert each plant clump between a crack in a rock or more firmly attach them to decor using super glue gel. Be careful not to bury the rhizome or the plant may suffer.

How to Care for Anubias Coffeefolia
— Anubias coffeefolia care is very easy, so start by using low lighting between 10-20 PAR. Too much light may cause excess algae growth, so if you are using a brighter light, consider placing the anubias further away from the light or under the shade of taller or floating plants.
— Why is my anubias turning yellow or brown? It may be a nutrient deficiency, so measure the nitrate level using a multi-test strip. Dose with Easy Green all-in-one fertilizer until the water has 20-50 ppm nitrate. If the anubias continues to grow poorly, consider dosing Easy Potassium fertilizer in addition to Easy Green for extra potassium.
— How to trim Anubias coffeefolia: If the anubias has dying or melting leaves, trim them off at the base of the leaf without damaging the rhizome.
How to Propagate Anubias Coffeefolia
— Use a sharp pair of scissors to cut the rhizome and split into two plants. Plant the two sections as normal.

— What is the Anubias coffeefolia size? As a larger anubias variety, they can grow to more than 10 inches (25 cm) tall with a horizontal rhizome more than 4 inches (10 cm) long.

The name "coffeefolia" probably describes the leaves' similarity to coffee plant leaves. They are vivid green and have prominent ribs, just like these guys.

Gorgeous dark leaves. I put one of these in my 10gal and it grew so big it took over the whole tank! 1 plant filled my 10gal. It even sprouted a flower for me! Love this plant. Will be buying another. My plecos enjoyed the leaves

Plant looks healthy with lots and lots of roots and a couple baby leaves. Full leaves have plenty of texture and ridges as expected.

Both plants arrived smaller than what was pictured on the site. The one pictured on the left with the slightly yellowing leaf disintegrated within a couple days. The darker green one on the right has not lost a single leaf and is doing great. Both were glued (with coop glue) to the same stone a couple inches apart. A team member proactively reached out to me following my issue to better understand what went wrong and immediately offered me options to remedy the situation. Fantastic customer service!

Anubias Coffeefolia has proven to be a very unique and durable plant in my 75 gallon Lake Malawi tank. I will be ordering a few more to replace a couple Anubias Nana “petite” plants that have not held up as well to nibbling.

I ordered this plant on Monday I think. But after I unpacked everything that I ordered. The Anubias Coffeefolia didn’t look so good but I thought it was in the stage of melting and didn’t have time to convert. I gave it a couple of days to start growing or just show some signs of new growth but it still hasn’t shown some new growth. And now it looks like the plant is just dying.

So I was worried and reading the return policy inside and out because the USPS is the way it is right now.
