Anubias barteri is one of the most popular species of anubias, so farmers have created a strain called Anubias barteri var. nana that stays smaller and more compact. The vibrant green leaves are oval-shaped with a pointed end, and the plant stays about 2–4 inches (5–10 cm) in height with a rhizome of 4–6 inches (10–15 cm) long. This slow-growing, low light plant can be attached to hardscape by placing a small dab of super glue gel on the roots.

How to Plant Anubias Barteri var Nana
1. Upon receiving the tissue culture plant, immediately open the container and rinse off any excess liquid from the roots.
2. The anubias can be planted as one single plant or gently separated into smaller plant clumps by cutting the rhizome.
3. Insert each plant clump between a crack in a rock or more firmly attach them to decor by placing a small dab of super glue gel on the roots.
4. Place the plant in a shaded area with dimmer lighting to avoid algae growth.

How to Care for Anubias Barteri Nana
— Caring for an Anubias barteri var. nana is very easy, so start by using low lighting between 10-20 PAR. Too much light may cause excess algae growth, so if you are using a brighter light, consider placing the anubias further away from the light or under the shade of taller or floating plants.
— Why is my anubias turning yellow or brown? It may be a nutrient deficiency, so measure the nitrate level using a multi-test strip. Dose with Easy Green all-in-one fertilizer until the water has 20-50 ppm nitrate. If the anubias continues to grow poorly, consider dosing Easy Potassium fertilizer in addition to Easy Green for extra potassium.
— How to trim Anubias barteri nana: If the anubias has dying or melting leaves, trim them off at the base of the leaf without damaging the rhizome.
How to Propagate Anubias Barteri var Nana
— Use a sharp pair of scissors to cut the rhizome and split into two plants. Plant the two sections as normal.

My tissue culture nana petite arrived in several extremely tiny pieces with most rhizomes only having one or two small leaves that were very difficult to attach to hardscape. A couple of them already had Anubias rhizome rot and were not useable. I did try to use the remaining pieces but they all also melted and rotted the next day.
I contacted the company and they responded extremely quickly, refunded my money and apologized for the product’s condition. I’m very appreciative of their services and am going to continue to order from them. I have gained so much knowledge from their website and You Tube videos as well, and am so grateful for their services and return/refund policy. Great company!

I had never purchased tissue cultures before, so I took a chance on this Anubias Barteri Nana tissue culture to see what it was all about. When it arrived, I was really impressed by how healthy it was- super green, sturdy rhizomes, long roots. There were even 3 separate clumps in the container! It was such great quality that I went and ordered 2 more. Those came in exactly the same way, with multiple little plants per container, and one had even flowered in there. They are thriving in my newest aquarium, with new leaves already sprouting within a week. I will definitely order more.

The tissue cultures arrived healthy and transplanted well. It has only been a few weeks so it's a little early to judge. However, there was only a small amount of melting, and the plants are now making new leaves. So far so good.

This was a nice set of Anubias. I thought it was going to be a single rhizome, but when I washed the gel off it was two good sized ones, and two small ones. I've attached them all to the driftwood in my tank and so far so good!
The only concern I had was the length of time it took to get to me (4-5 days) and the fact that when it was delivered it was snowing, yet no foil bag or heat pack was included. I was worried that the plants were frost bitten. Time will tell if they somehow got damaged or if they really flourish like I hope.

The delivery was fast, the plants looked great when I got them, and gluing them to driftwood was especially easy with the helpful YouTube videos. Can't say how long these will last since they went in an aquatic turtle habitat, but after a week they're still going strong.

Arrived quickly and in excellent shape. Was able to devide into four individual plants that are growing well.

I am starting a new, planted tank and needed a tried and true plant that would establish quickly- Anubias is that plant in my other tanks. I had never used this variety before, but it came very healthy, easy to clean off the medium used to keep it alive, and was easy to separate into smaller bundles. I glued them to some rocks a couple weeks ago and there is already new growth. All the plants I’ve received from Aquarium co-op have been healthy.

Usually TC can be very delicate and not acclimate to an aquarium well, but my tank is still cycling and the nanas are doing well so far! They arrived with a few yellow leaves, but after removing them I haven't had any other losses.
Tip: don't glue the rhizome, glue the roots.
