Cryptocoryne wendtii is one of the most common plants within the aquarium trade. It quickly became quite popular due to its hardiness, ease of care, and low light requirements. This medium-sized crypt has ruffled, pointed leaves that are bronze to red in color. C. wendtii will reach a height of around 8 inches, making it an excellent midground plant in your aquarium.

We Include Heat Packs and Liners Free of Charge

We have a custom-developed algorithm to include heat packs and insulating plant liners as needed, based on the weather forecast from our warehouse to your shipping address. This helps keep plants at stable temperatures, both in hot and cold weather. Other vendors typically charge you at checkout for a heat pack. We include them when needed free of charge because it's our job to deliver our plants to your door healthy.

Crypt Melt

Crypts (and many other live aquatic plants) are very sensitive to major changes in their water, so they often respond by absorbing/melting their existing leaves as they adjust to the different conditions. The energy they gain and conserve from “consuming” the old leaves allows the crypts to create new roots and leaves that can once again gather nutrients and light in their new environment.

3

Easy Planter

This natural, rock-like decoration is perfect for the lazy fishkeeper. Just add a root tab to the rockwool in the pot, drop the entire potted cryptocoryne plant into the center hole of the Easy Planter, and place it in your aquarium. Works great with bare bottom tanks or fish that like to dig.

How We Grow and Store Our Plants

We store all of our plants in aquariums with plenty of light and fertilizer to start converting their leaves. This picture is from our warehouse. Not all vendors store their plants in water; many store them out of water in bags straight from the farms. This is more time without light and doesn't give them a head start in growing underwater leaves.

Cryptocoryne Wendtii Red

Very pleased with my purchase of Cryptocoryne Wendtii Red from Aquarium Co-Op... I was impressed by the great care in packaging, they arrived very healthy looking with nice green leaves, and a healthy development of roots. They look awesome in my aquarium and I'm looking forward to watching them grow and thrive. I will be ordering more plants. Highly recommend Aquarium Co-Op!

Quick and mostly healthy

I bought 3 pots, 2 pots were super healthy and full on arrival and have fared well, the third one had only a few leaves that hadnt wilted on arrival but so far is surviving. Noticeably different with the third one for some reason. Service was quick and they all had good roots and planting instructions were clear.

Love it!

I like to post my reviews a few months after planting to give the plant time to adapt and establish so that folks can see what these plants will look like later on.

I love crypts.. cant get enough of them. They are my favorite aquatic plants, and they always look amazing to my eye. I have this red crypt planted right next to a green one, so I think its a great comparison shot. I love some reds mixed in with the greens to just add a bit more color variety in the tank.

Good so far

Carpeting plants don't survive in my tank. I have two green crypts that have survived and are doing very well. Although not a carpeting plant they do fill out nicely and cover a good portion of substrate. Wanted to try a bit of color so I ordered the red. So far it's doing well. I can't wait till it grows out.

So far, so good

My Cryptocoryne wentii (red) arrived in excellent condition in a few days. Unlike my Sagitteria, which was very small and frail, this plant was extremely robust and had an extensive root system - it was almost too extensive, since it had woven into and through the rock wool. After unpacking and cleaning, it planted easily and I added 3 root tabs to help it along to a good start. There was very minimal melting, some stems have grown long and there's a cluster of new growth near the bottom of the plant. It looks like it has acclimated well to my aquarium! The fish loved it from the onset, the tetras especially, hanging about and swimming through the stems. My only concern is that it's not red, even a little bit. I assume that color is a factor of ambient light levels, so I'll wait awhile on that.
Overall I'm very pleased with this specimen! Good job!

Cryptocoryne Wendtii Red

Ordered this plant a year ago for a new 10 gallon setup. It looked great when received. The first photo is when it was first planted in January last year. The second photo is from today. Planted in gravel and supplemented with root tabs. I'm really pleased with the way it turned out.

Honestly not sure how to feel

Loved everything I’ve gotten from CO-OP but my crypt melted away as soon as I got it. Hoping it bounces back with the root tabs I have gotten! All the plants I have received have been wonderful and were delivered with care.

Great plants in great shape. I was amazed how fast the order arrived. I was taking a weekend trip and assumed it would arrive a couple days after I was back. I had to have my daughter take them in and drop them in the tank till I was home. They and all the other plants are all doing great.

First attempt at plants in my aquarium

The plants came in looking surprisingly well in spite of the fact that it took five days to get here with a weekend and holiday. Only a few shed leaves and some are putting out very long runners and spreading after only two weeks. Very happy and anxious to see the progress in another month.

Very happy update!

**Update** Received this crypt very small and was a little worried it wouldn't take. Realized quickly that it was already converted when there was no melting after putting into the tank. 2 months in and this beauty is thriving. Thanks again ACO!!

Nice plant

Beautiful addition to my tank. Let them sit in the pot in my tank for 2 weeks before transplant. Almost zero melt. Ordered 3 pots and was able to get at least 4 plants from each pot. Filled in nicely around a large stack of Mexican beach pebbles. Makes a nice island effect.

Happy plant, happy customer

My Crytocoryne Wendtii Red arrived healthy and took to my aquarium easily. I noticed very little to no melting. My plants have double in size in 3 weeks!

Hopeful!

I've ordered numerous plants from ACO and they've all been large beautiful plants. I know that the sizes may vary, but I was not expecting such a small crypt! I'm hopeful that this plant thrives as all of my other plants have done extremely well that I've ordered in the past. Put root tabs and keeping fingers crossed!

Lovely plant

Ignore my algae; I'm new to aquariums. HOWEVER, lovely plant. As expected, many of the leaves melted during the first few weeks, but now they're doing great as new leaves continue to grow. It continues to grow more full as time goes on. I got this plant in March, and it is currently the end of April.

The benefits of buying in person is that the plants are ready for your tank.

Seriously, the folk at AQCP leave th e plants they get in water so they have already acclimated and gone th rough their meltage. My crypt wendtii is looks great and looks like it’s multiplying after a month or two in low tech.

Cryptocoryne wendii red

To be perfectally honest. When I first looked at the plant. I didn't think it would grow. It was just a couple of leaves. But now it's thriving in my tank, and I'm extremely happy with the results. Great effort and care was given, in making sure I received my plant safely. I Sincerely trust in Cory and Aquarium Co-Op, and their merchandise. :)
