Sponge filters offer reliability and hassle-free operation. With no moving parts, all you need is an air pump with some airline tubing, and you've got a filter that is fully contained within your aquarium. Our Giant Coarse Sponge Filter is a fully functional filter that may be used in a giant aquarium or pond, but we really designed this for fun and as a conversation piece. You may attach an air stone and airline tubing to this filter and connect it to an air pump, or simply display this giant filter on a shelf next to your aquarium.
Additional Supplies Needed
The Giant Coarse Sponge Filter is made for display, but is fully functional, should you choose. It does not produce air on its own, so you also need to buy the following components to run the sponge filter:
— Air pump
— Airline tubing
— Check valve (to prevent water from pouring out of the tank when the power is off)
Dimensions: 26.5 Inches tall by 13.5 Wide. (approximately, sponge thickness isn't exact and height depends on how screwed down the top is)
Pore Size: 25ppi (different manufacturers rate porosity slightly different as it's an approximation)
Cleaning Instructions: While this filter is functional, cleaning may require additional help if using the suggested bag method used on our normal-sized sponge filters. We suggest cleaning the Giant Coarse Sponge Filter with a hose outside, or in a large utility sink.

SHIPPING POLICY
We process and ship out 98%+ of our shipments next business day.
Live plants will ship using an appropriate service and typically arrive in 2 to 5 business days. Transit times do not include weekends, holidays, or weather delays. To avoid delays in the shipping network we recommend
ordering live plants on Saturdays and Sundays for a Monday ship out.
Dry goods such as fish food, medication, filtration products, etc. can be ordered any day and will ship the next business day with an appropriate service. Typical shipping times are 1 to 7 business day transit time,
depending on delivery location.

Alaska and Hawaii have a $17.99 surcharge. We do not ship to Puerto Rico currently.
