  • Easy background plant
  • Long, slender leaves
  • Bushy appearance
  • Not available to be shipped to Hawaii and Alaska.

Willow hygro (or hygro willow) has long, slender leaves that look like a willow tree and elegantly sway in the current. As a stem plant, it loves stronger lighting and will grow quickly if given plenty of nutrients. Its tall, bushy appearance is perfect for filling up the background of your planted aquarium, and it can be easily propagated to other tanks.

We Include Heat Packs and Liners Free of Charge

We have a custom-developed algorithm to include heat packs and insulating plant liners as needed, based on the weather forecast from our warehouse to your shipping address. This helps keep plants at stable temperatures, both in hot and cold weather. Other vendors typically charge you at checkout for a heat pack. We include them when needed free of charge because it's our job to deliver our plants to your door healthy.

Received the plant on the verge of dying due to delayed transportation but then the support team reached out and I was about to receive a refund! Customer Service is a plus!

Superior products

This is the only place I will purchase aquarium plants. The shipping is quick and prepared with care, in the cooler months plants are shipped with heating pads. The plants themselves are extremely resilient and healthy with no tag along snails or other undesirables. Plants like the wisteria and sprite come with several shoots making filling an aquarium both easy and cost efficient. Anywhere else you will receive half the plants for double or triple the cost with the gamble that the plants are poorly or already dead. I can’t recommend aquarium co-op enough! Love you guys!

5 sprigs arrived with about 4 roots in total. I didn't really expect cuttings at this price point. There was a lot of mushy leaf debris in the package as well. Very good size with lots of leaves on each cutting so I assume they'll do okay. 🤞🏻

Five stars for showing up when it counts.

I don’t judge a company when the sun’s out and birds are singing—I judge them in rough weather. Myshipment hit 106° in Riverside during transit, and the plants arrived rough. Not Aquarium Co-op’s fault—the packing was the best I’ve seen and the specimens were beautiful; they’d just been cooked. I reached out and they responded quickly and respectfully, and we landed on an easy, fair solution. That kind of service is rare. I’ll keep buying from them.

Great background stem plant with long leaves

The plants came in super healthy and already transitioned too submerged growth, they were throwing out new roots the next day and new leaves soon after that

Willow hygro

I received one order that contained 5 stalks in perfect shape. I’m using in a planted tank with soil and a gravel top. I wanted to cover the side of the tank and planted a row. The are growing up an out very nicely

Hygrophila is Greek for "fond of wetness"

It won't be long before it's the dominant plant in my tank. The Java moss snarls back.

I know stem plants are easy to propagate, but this one has been the easiestest. This is a low-tech 0 KH nature aquarium that can run off a 2-plug wall outlet. 75 gallon, filled ~60% high.

Awesome plant.

Awesome plant, arrived healthy and larger than expected. A great plant for Betta offering many resting spots.

Arrived in bad condition

Didn’t arrive too well, had to remove a lot of brown mush from leaves and roots, also took around 10 days to arrive so that wasn’t any better

Solid plant

You simply won’t find an aquarium plant company that provides better packaging and shipping. I was initially a bit concerned because some of the stems were a little bare, and a couple of stems were broken. However, of all the stem plants I ordered, this one is doing the best.

Best live plants!

I ordered two variety packs of plants and all the plants are doing excellent after 9 days. Lush green colors and fresh new growth are also apparent. The Willow Hygro in the center back of the video is doing exceptionally well with new growth and stems. The packaging was great and I didn't see any visible damage to the plants when unboxed. My tips: use Easy Green to keep nitrates around 40-60ppm. Place easy root tabes 1-2" on either side of all root feeders then adjust if needed a week later. I highly recommend Aquarium Coop for everything plants related. Visit their YouTube channel and forum for endless plants knowledge and care.

Big leaves, fast grower

The hygro plant is doing very well in my tank!! It arrived a bit shaken from a UPS fail but recovered very quickly. As a stem plant it is growing fast and my shrimp and Otos love the big leaves.

Nice plant but it does not look like the picture

Plants arrived in pretty good shape. Some leaves were detached but for the most part they are in acceptable condition.

Awesome!

I ordered multiple plants a couple of days ago to fill up my tank. These plants arrived very quickly and were very well packaged. All of the plants were very healthy and were much higher quality than what I can get at my LFS. I will definitely be a repeat customer for all of my future tanks! Thanks Aquarium Co-op!!

Beautiful and Healthy Bunches!

My Willow Hygro arrived in excellent condition! Trying to grow this plant with a mostly water column feeding method, so I'm excited to see how they prosper!
