  • Broad leaves with wavy edges
  • Easy to grow
  • Not available to be shipped to Hawaii and Alaska.

Cryptocoryne undulata Red is a great beginner plant that features long, wavy-edged leaves that are green and reddish-bronze in color. It has a similar appearance to C. wendtii 'Red,' as well as the same easy care requirements.  Because this is a medium-sized crypt which grows relatively slowly, it serves as a great low maintenance midground plant. It will thrive under low to medium light and send out runners as it grows.

We Include Heat Packs and Liners Free of Charge

We have a custom-developed algorithm to include heat packs and insulating plant liners as needed, based on the weather forecast from our warehouse to your shipping address. This helps keep plants at stable temperatures, both in hot and cold weather. Other vendors typically charge you at checkout for a heat pack. We include them when needed free of charge because it's our job to deliver our plants to your door healthy.

Crypt Melt

Crypts (and many other live aquatic plants) are very sensitive to major changes in their water, so they often respond by absorbing/melting their existing leaves as they adjust to the different conditions. The energy they gain and conserve from “consuming” the old leaves allows the crypts to create new roots and leaves that can once again gather nutrients and light in their new environment.

Easy Planter

This natural, rock-like decoration is perfect for the lazy fishkeeper. Just add a root tab to the rockwool in the pot, drop the entire potted cryptocoryne plant into the center hole of the Easy Planter, and place it in your aquarium. Works great with bare bottom tanks or fish that like to dig.

Quality plants at a good price

I couldn't be happier with this Cryptocoryne Undulata. It arrived on time, was a great size, and looked very healthy right out of the package. It was completely pest-free, with vibrant leaves and a strong root system. It settled into my aquarium quickly and has been doing great. Aquarium Co-Op did an excellent job with the packaging and quality. I would definitely buy this plant again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a healthy, high-quality aquarium plant.

Live plant alert

It was only a week before this plant took off. Best plant for beginners who want to add live plants to their aquarium!li

Undulata easy in hard water

I’ve had really good luck this species of crypt. I’ve ordered 3 plants in total all are thriving, one of which has been in my aquarium for several months. All arrived in good condition. My tank ph is 8.3 and my general hardness (Gh) is 330 ppm so fairly hard water. I’ve kept this plant under both low and medium light and it thrives in either. I prefer in low light in my low tech tank. I’ve had minimum melt from these plants and they don’t seem as sensitive to tank changes as other crypts I’ve kept (such as spiralis or Wendtii for me). I keep in a terracotta pot with aqua soil. This plant has grown to 7 inches tall, has medium-narrow dark green leaves and has spread out 9 inches wide for me. I have it in a 20g high 76 degree tank, water changed once a week. It’s my favorite crypt for hard water I’ve grown.

Not as shabby as it looks!

My plants arrived hot because they had to sit over the weekend (order ON the weekend to keep it from happening to you!). The undulata had the longest roots, and also appeared to be in the worst shape. It had the most melt after planting, but it still ended up being only four or five leaves. The new leaves it's putting out are bright green instead of bronze because I have fairly low light on my tank. So far I have high hopes for this one and suspect it's a solid pick for low tech aquariums like mine.

Crypt. Undulata is thriving

It arrived in excellent condition and much larger than what was expected. Over the last few months it has bulked up quite nicely and I have since broken several bunches off of it for propagation. Note, something in this order came with bladder snails.

Nice plants!

I ordered 2 Cryptocoryne undulata and 2 C. lutea, which arrived looking pretty good. There was some debris from an expired leaf to rinse off, and one or two leaves were yellow. This was not a big deal.
The plants released from the rock wool much easier than I thought they would. That was a big plus! I planted all four plants in my 20G high, where there were already a few crypts given by a friend. l love all species of crypts, and have had them in my tanks for years.
So far everything looks great! All of the plants have put out new leaves and look like they are going to do well. The tank has a colony of original Endler's livebearers, a tiny bristlenose catfish, and ramshorn snails. They are fed three times a day, so I have not added fertilizer yet. When that time comes, I have Easy Green on stand-by.

Melted Upon Arrival 👎

My crypt looked absolutely horrible upon arrival. They said crypt melt was 'normal' and provided a link to their site. Clicked the link and mine did not look 'perfect' at all, it was melted before even touching the aquarium water. They were reluctant to give me my money back for this. I had to send multiple emails and pictures to get a refund for this. If this is what you knew you were getting would you have paid that price? If that's a normal condition for crypt to arrive in why aren't there pics of that on the for sale page? Unhappy with the plants and the customer service. And they're usually great! I've had multiple hundred dollar orders from this store. Will be rethinking ordering from here again.

Looks great!

I purchased 1 Crypt Undulata, which has been in my dirted tank (new setup) for about a month, and it is doing well! It arrived healthy and only had 1 or 2 leaves melt initially (this is to be expected as it needed to adjust to my water parameters). It has doubled in size and looks great in my new low tech tank.

Beautiful and thriving

Plant came in beautiful and healthy. Planted in my tank with tons of root tab on March 6 and as of today, March 17 … no melting. I have had several Cryptos, most melted within days, but came back strong. I have some that died within days, as well.
I hope (with fingers crossed) stays strong.

LOVE this plant! So easy, looks great.

I've always been a bit wary of crypts, but this one has converted me! It traveled beautifully, was easy to plant, and is thriving in my tank with sand and root tabs. Bonus: my fish love it. The honey gourami and corydora like to hide among the leaves, and the betta likes to use it as a backdrop to show off his fancy finnage.

This has been such a great experience that I ordered 7 more crypts for my betta coccina tank.

10/10 recommend!

Pretty much as expected

The crypt arrived looking fine and came out of the rock wool into at least six plants. What a bonus! After a while, as expected, some meltback started. Sadly, all of it melted back and I was only left with mush. The beauty of these plants is that theyve all sprouted new growth already and will be just fine. I know I just need some patience and I'll have some gorgeous results. The plants I've gotten from Aquarium Co-op have always bounced back from any issues that are to be expected. Traveling is hard on plants.

Got 1 of these in a mystery box and have now bought 4 more. Added root tabs and tank is about a year old and they have all done great. Been almost 2 months. Some are still converting and the original plant is fully converted.

Best crypts I've ever received

I bought 4 of these crypts and im not lying to you this was in just one pot. They came in nice and healthy. Three I received had 3-4 big mother plants but thats still extremely. Now its up to me to convert them into immersed crypts. Hopefully this time i can pull off a Dirted tank. Btw in the picture of the tank the tall crypts on the right are undlata and the left side is wendii green and red .

Outstanding

I order 2 bundle boxes and was not let down. The plants are beautiful right out the box. Packaging was outstanding. Plants in gear shape. A great selection of different sizes. I just ordered another box and a couple extra. I HIGHLY RECOMMENDED this box. Way cheaper than the the box stores and higher quality.

Wait for it!!

It came in looking good. Then it melted all the way down to nothing. Now it's coming back just a few days later. Can't wait for it to be full grown!
