Vallisneria Corkscrew has been a popular choice in the hobby because of its ease of care and long, grass-like appearance. Its hardiness makes it great for goldfish, African cichlid, and community tanks. Vallisneria grows very tall in an aquarium and can drape over the top to make fish and fry feel secure. Once well-established, val spreads quickly by sending out baby plants via runners where you can get a new shoot as soon as every 3 days.

We Include Heat Packs and Liners Free of Charge

We have a custom-developed algorithm to include heat packs and insulating plant liners as needed, based on the weather forecast from our warehouse to your shipping address. This helps keep plants at stable temperatures, both in hot and cold weather. Other vendors typically charge you at checkout for a heat pack. We include them when needed free of charge because it's our job to deliver our plants to your door healthy.

Easy Planter

This natural, rock-like decoration is perfect for the lazy fishkeeper. Just add a root tab to the rockwool in the pot, drop the entire potted plant into the center hole of the Easy Planter, and place it in your aquarium. Works great with bare bottom tanks or fish that like to dig.

First and last time buying from aquarium co op. The plants came in super dry and yellow with melting. I was so happy for this unboxing just to be left with the feeling of throwing these away from pure disappointment. Next time im just buying from my local fish store. Very bad first time experience.

I am not happy at all. First and last time buying from them. Corkscrew Val came in dry and very yellow with melting leaves. And very small portions. Regret not just going to my local fish store.

Arrived looking great!!

The plant arrived in good condition. I planted it as soon as it arrived. Used root tabs and liquid fertilizer. It has been planted almost 2 weeks. No new growth yet. My light isn't real strong, that might be the problem. Overall, satisfied with the purchase.

Will never order from aquarium co-op again

Had no idea the business model had changed to using Amazon for delivery despite charging the same amount as when 2-3 day shipping was the model. I ordered $95 in plants and all plants arrived in a box that was 45 degrees with an ice cold heat pack. All the Vals were brown, which isn’t abnormal for Vals but since all the roots have died despite being kept in the rock wool and grow pot. Other plants were all stress have melted but some seem to be stabilizing. Shipping is 5 days with amazon from shipment date to delivery and you have to buy almost $90 in plants to avoid this. Not sure if they same thing would have happened if I had bought less plants and paid the shipping since they still shipped in the middle of a freeze and their insulation pack and heat packs were ice cold upon arrival. Was using this plants to scape a new tank for a friend and on top of all the cost and wait, still had to drive an hour away to buy plants to scape the tank because these plants arrived so stressed. Expensive lesson to learn.

Corkscrew Val didn't like me

The corkscrew val came packaged nicely. It had parts dying just like most plants in my experience whether bought online or in store . The plants fully melted beyond saving in 9 days. I don't blame Aquarium Co-op because like fish not all plants like the water they're placed in regardless of parameters. Overall i think it was a beautiful plant and had they lived they would have provided my aquarium with what I was looking for in a rear cover plant for small and shy fish. Im giving 5 stars based on plant when shipped because I bought plant (Aponogeton Ulvaceus) from them that did survive and great buy as well. I will repurchase the cork val and try again at a later date.

Plants were received in excellent condition

It's been 2-3 weeks since planting the Corkscrew Vallisneria, there has been some melting and some growth in my semi-hard city tap water. The 5 plants in this order looked better than I expected, I ended up buying another 11 plants a week later.

The order came a day later than expected, which is why many of the leaves were melting. Despite that, they came in well packaged! Hoping they will bounce back and turn the tank Into a jungle!

Perfect, easy care, too!

Arrived in great health, after a couple weeks, new growth going on. Using root tabs once a month, also adding easy green and easy potassium.

Healthy

All my plant arrived healthy and all plants packaged very very nicely! The Tiger Lotis is so beautiful! I’m super excited to watch all them grow!

Hardy and quick growth

About 4 months in and have been impressed by the corkscrew vallisneria growth rate and hardiness despite being relocated 2x to different areas of the tank. Strongly recommend adding root tabs!

Val In Bad Shape

This is the first time I’ve felt the need to leave anything less than a stellar review for the Co-op. I recently received two bundle packs—one with regular Vallisneria and the other with Corkscrew—and unfortunately, both arrived in pretty rough shape. The regular Vallisneria didn’t make it, but the Corkscrew might still pull through with some care.

That said, every other plant in the order was in excellent condition, and I’ve had many great experiences with the Co-op in the past. I’m chalking this up as a one-off issue and still trust the quality and service overall.

Great plants

This review is not just about the Corkscrew but about all the 13 plants I received about a week ago. All are doing great. That is saying something from someone with a 10 year old tank that had just two plants. Aquarium co op explained the parameters i needed and the right fertilizers. The results in just two weeks are amazing. Thank you

Poor customer Service

4 out of the 5 plants died 5 days after delivery. I’m hopping this corkscrew vail will make it. Sent email still no response from the company.

Amazing!

It doesn't matter which plant you order from Aquarium Co-op, it will arrive fast and in perfect condition. I am have ordered repeatedly from them and have never been disappointed. I can't recommend enough.

Watching them grow- again

I thought I'd already written a review, but here goes. It was a while ago, but I think each pot held three or four individual plants, in fair shape.

I love the form of this plant- and I wanted to add them to a tank with Buenos Aires tetras, since the tetras weren't eating the regular vals in their tank.

Unfortunately, something began nibbling them- the tetras or the clown pleco? Two were reduced to just the roots and nubs, but one of those is making a come back. Here's a pic of one of the luckier ones, having been moved to a safer tank. Already there is strong new growth from the center. A beautiful and resilient plant, if your fish will allow it!

Elegant plant

I was looking for a nice tall elegant plant and it came in great condition. Solid green and I’m just so happy with it. I put it on the side near the wall and back corner. It will get taller. My only regret is I didn’t order more lol. I will in the future

It’s ok

Kind of underwhelming for the price. Tattered leaf edges and small overall. I’ve placed so many orders over the years. First time I’ve been kinda disappointed.

Corkscrew Val, worth it!

With it being winter I was worried about the cold but the Val arrived safe and sound. It is slowly acclimating to my tank and I see it taking to life in my aquarium! I see at least 5 new leaves coming up as the originals are melting away, the new leaves are even much brighter and look ready to do its thing! 5 stars for the picking/packing and shipping team!

Looking good!

I came close to buying a plastic version, since I have a group of Buenos Aires Tetras. Their previous owner said they destroyed all the live plants. Well, so far they are leaving the Vals to grow, so I added these Corkscrew vals. They have that classic twisted form, and all but one had plenty of roots and haven’t been uprooted (I think it’s been a week since planting them?) The outer leaves looked worn but the center leaves are thick. They aren’t growing as fast as the ordinary Vals,
but they look fantastic already. Can’t wait till they fill out enough to remove the plastic plants!
